I've never had to write a review like this. But the management needs to wake up.
We had a 5:15 reservation for four and ordered shortly after being seated. Our wine arrived promptly but the food was not to be seen. At 6:15 we were told that the kitchen was backed up but our appetizers should be arriving soon. (They were cold appetizers: burrata with Wagyu bresaola and a salad of spaghetti squash, lettuce, etc.) But then the manager came over and said that he didn't think they would be able to deliver our entrees (lamb strip loin, Wagyu tartare, and Linguine with braised Wagyu, truffle cream and fresh winter truffles) by 6:45. (We were going to the Palm Beach Opera at the Kravis Center.) We said "fine, do the best you can." One of our party asked if she could have the burrata appetizer instead of the lamb loin she had ordered and the manager said he couldn't promise that, because her order would automatically go to the end of the line. However, he did bring two burrata appetizers and the spaghetti squash salad a few minutes later. And then he announced that he had cancelled all of our dinner entree orders. Needless to say, we were shocked and NOT pleased.
Although we had inquired about bread earlier and were told that they didn't serve it and didn't have it to order, they did manage to bring some grilled bread and butter to the table, for which we were grateful. But we all left hungry and disgruntled and disappointed by what held the promise to be a wonderful evening, but fell far short.
What is a reasonable amount of time to wait to be served the food you ordered? And how can I review the food we ordered if it was never served to us? The kitchen must be severely understaffed or there is something wrong with their procedure.
As for the two appetizers we were served: They were fine, but not extraordinary. Our server was very pleasant, but was put in the unfortunate position of relaying bad news repeatedly.
I hope Fern gets their act together soon.
