Fine dining prices without fine dining service. Waiter was new but disclosed this so his missteps were excusable. I will not mention those. The wait staff kept taking the wine list as if that was the only copy they had. We had to keep asking for it to order drinks. One of those times was the sommelier. We told him we were going to order a bottle of wine with our dinner. He took the wine list and said he would return for us to order. Not only did he not return in time for us to order, he ONLY returned because we said something to the waiter. Sommelier was fake; we did not care for his attitude. Cocktails were mediocre. The wait staff kept trying to take our food before we were finished. The wine we specifically ordered to drink with our entree did not make it to our table until well after our entree. The smashed and fried new potatoes were not even smashed. The potatoes had a heavy oil flavor and drenched with an aioli that tasted like straight mayo, no other flavor. Every dissatisfying detail would could be overlooked if isolated but altogether made for an unsatisfactory anniversary dinner experience. Will not return to this poorly executed establishment.

Beautiful restaurant Food and service are excellent Jared-our server-made it even better Very good wine list and well prepared cocktails Highly recommend Both steaks and seafood are top notch You will not be disappointed

I had the most amazing birthday dinner at Georgia James! from the second i walked in everyone was so accommodating and helpful, steak was cooked perfectly drinks and wine selection was extremely good! I will definitely continue to come back everytime i’m in Houston!

Incredible evening at the newly remodeled GJ!! Staff is incredible, we felt spoiled all evening. Tablesude Steak Tartare was—WOW!!! As was the tuna appetizer. Steaks were cooked to perfection and i’m SO picky, freshly made bernaise was yum. THOSE smashed red potatoes w garlic sauce?!! WHAT?? ridiculous. We will be back as often as possible!! Thank you!

I wanted to express my appreciation for the amazing food and service we received during our recent visit. However, as we were there to celebrate a birthday, we were disappointed by the lack of special service or celebration. While we were not expecting anything extravagant, we had hoped for a small gesture, such as a decorated dessert or table, especially considering the cost of our meal. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Amazing dinner with a business friend who’s relocating to LA! The food was literally chef’s kiss.! Live music was a vibe as well really enjoyed Angela & John! Bernice our menu guide was an absolute pleasure. We went with all of her recommendations. And the cherry on top was the panna cotta! Amazing!

My Husband and I came to celebrate his birthday and we were very unsatisfied with the food and service. We spent a lot of money on multiple drinks and food, and I am very disappointed, especially since it was my husband’s birthday. The food took a long time to be served. It was a Tuesday at 8pm, the restaurant wasn’t packed at all. My husband ordered a steak and requested medium-rare and the steak was rare. We told the server about his steak being cooked wrong and she stated “that’s how they make the steaks here”. She did not offer to bring him another steak. The Caesar salads tasted as if it was sitting for days. Soggy lettuce drench in Caesar. The bread we ordered was extremely hard. We then requested a new batch of bread for it to be the exact same… hard. We also ordered the au gratin loaded potatoes and requested NO sour cream. The potatoes came out WITH sour cream. Also in my reservation I stated we were celebrating a birthday. Which was a detail missed. The server came to our table asking for dessert choices which we ordered since she did not mention that there would be a complimentary dessert for the occasion. The detail was missed that we were celebrating a bday. Once she noticed that it was my husband bday she brought out a free dessert and still charged us for the dessert we initially ordered. My husband was very upset with the food overall which was very disappointing to me since I chose this place.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The service was exceptional—our servers were not only professional and attentive but also highly knowledgeable, ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was enjoyable. The restaurant’s interior is beautifully designed, creating an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere. The seating was also very comfortable, allowing us to fully relax and savor our meal. We indulged in a variety of dishes, including the Beef Wellington, spaghetti squash, truffle mac and cheese, steak tartare, and a delightful strawberry-based martini. The martini, in particular, stood out—it was clear that fresh strawberries were used rather than artificial syrup, which made all the difference in taste and quality. While most of our meal was fantastic, we found the lobster bisque and the Viet-Cajun style oysters to be somewhat underwhelming, as they lacked the bold flavors we were expecting. That being said, the overall experience was absolutely lovely. With its impeccable service, inviting ambiance, and standout dishes, this restaurant is definitely worth visiting for a special occasion or simply to enjoy a refined dining experience.
