Specializing in modern comfort food, Gertie’s in New York provides a vintage country atmosphere that gives patrons a relaxing chance at a fresh breath of air away from the city noise. Recipes change weekly and are influenced by diners from all across the world. Lunch offers specialty comfort items such as baked sweet potato fries, meatloaf, hand made pizzas and sandwiches. Gertie’s is made famous for its baked desserts, offering unique and custom twists on modern delicacies. The restaurant offers such desserts as ganache brownies, carrot cake and scones. Gertie’s gives New York diners a chance to experience the warmth and radiance of country family living, with many patrons returning to see that some of their favorite dishes have been added to the menu. With a certificate of excellence, the restaurant is a fresh step into a vintage home with a modern flair.

    Great service and delicious meal all around. Nice updates to menu. New owners were very friendly and welcoming. Excited to try more new menu items.

    The service was prompt and pleasant. Our appetizers included the Strudel and Mediterranean Calamari (think a calamari Souvlaki salad). My husband ordered the Ravioli and steak entree, he loved it. I ordered the Scallops with Angel hair pasta. You can’t make a bad pick. My only wish - more side options that accompany the main entrees. It seemed like everything came with mash potatoes. I understand that logic simplifies a menu, but on the other hand, sides could be a la carte - providing more variety to the entrees, and an opportunity to feature seasonal creations. Bottom line - make sure you go. Gertie’s is great, and we hear a new chef is incoming, another reason for us to go back.

    Overall very good - server was very nice and pleasant just a little slow to clear after entrees finished and to come back to get the bill - that one is a big pet peeve of mine, once you bring the bill don’t wait 10-15 min to come back to collect it

    This was our first time to eat at Gerties. A friend got us a gift card for our anniversary. Service was excellent,(explained the specials, was attentive, and friendly) food was excellent and the choice of wine was excellent too. We are looking forward to eating at Gerties again sometime in the near future

    Fantastic experience. Service was excellent and the food, well, we will definitely be coming back! We had the Mediterranean calamari, flat iron steak and chicken mars (Marsala). Steak was cooked perfectly and the Marsala was delicious. Highly recommend going to Gertie's.

    We have been wanting to try Gertie’s for some time. After all the hype, we were left feeling underwhelmed. The food was average. The halibut was over cooked. I can see why the restaurant would appeal to town residents, but it does not warrant a trek.
