Have not been to Gullifty’s since I moved out of the area but my sister was in town so I arranged a dinner on Friday, 11/1@6pm. Back in the day you couldn’t get in on a Friday without a wait. The bar had only 2 people sitting there so I was kind of shocked of this. We got seated and it went downhill from there. Drinks took forever and it was explained to us that there was only one bartender and he was backed up. I’m looking around and there was a party in the middle but it wasn’t a large party and there was hardly anyone eating in the restaurant. I was thinking to myself I’ll go behind the bar and make my own drink. Food was horrible. Only reason I gave it two stars is because the French onion soup was the only good thing. My sister got a salmon burger and it looked dry. My wife got the chicken parm and it had no cheese and a microwaveable entree looks better. my smash burger was small and served on an oversized bun that took any flavor away from the burger. Only good thing was our waiter Alex. I’m not blaming him for anything. He came to us stating issues with the drinks and did everything he could to keep us happy. What a gem! We were looking for a casual place to have dinner with our kids that wasn’t trendy and had a kids menu. Wow- did we get so much more! The atmosphere was casual and comfortable- plenty of space and booth seating which is a must for us. The service was exceptional and well paced with consideration to our kids. The staff treated every table like their own- bringing out food- filling drinks- we waited on nothing. And then there is the food. I was truly blown away. Everything we ordered - including our kids meals - were delicious and clearly made from scratch. Protein cooked perfectly - very generous portions. The desserts - also made in house- truly exceptional, rich and full of flavor. For the quality of both food and service I would expect to pay much more than we did- the modest price point is truly part of the charm. They simply do a great job and put great care into their product which is accessible and non-pretentious. We will be repeat customers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.この情報は役に立ちましたか？

A mixed bag. The food was very good, the rest of the visit was a mixed bag. We had specified that it was a special occasion, the host never looked, never mentioned it. Then we were seated, and waited a long long time for the server to come over. Eventually he did. He took our drink orders, two waters and an iced tea. He brought them, but we asked three times and are still waiting for the sweetener. He took our orders and we waited a long long time for the orders to arrive. They did, and the food was very good. The server never returned to us until long after we were finished. At a table next to us, a couple was seated. They waited so long to be helped. They left. They told the same host who seated us why they left. He shrugged. Finally, a table near us spilled a drink on the floor. They cleaned it up and placed a yellow wet floor sign there. Except the sign was filthy. Really filthy. There was a manager, we believe, present. He walked around a lot, never came over and did not seem to note any of the problems going on. Service was excellent (wish I remember her name). It probably helped that it was not even 1/4 full --- most were dining outside; typical summer Saturday night in Villanova. Great expansive menu; good mix of app's, entree's, salads, etc. Some salads seemed a little pricey (ex: $20) for the size and type/amount of proteins.
