Atmosphere was fun and my group liked it though I thought it was a little half-assed. Things like lighting that goes full room bright and then you realize 15 seconds later when it flickers and there’s a crash of thunder that it’s supposed to be a storm lighting “trick” that falls flat. And how some of the decor doesn’t go all the way to the ceiling. Or seems random and mish-mashy. And “half-assed” is probably a great description for lots of stuff with this place.
Food was hit and miss, where the instant potatoes, previously frozen chicken strips and veggie burger patties were absolute misses. Mac and cheese bites, though tasty, had a “from the freezer” feel to them as well. The chicken wings, served dry and on a skewer with sauce in the side (a bold style if the wings are subpar), tasted like they had freezer burn and the dulce de leche dessert was rubbery and had a very odd almost-burnt kinda taste to it. Then things like the lamb and raspberry/blueberry vegan cake were very tasty. Other dishes that were decent but not impressive were flatbread (fig & goat cheese), burgers and fettuccine Alfredo. The cocktails were great - nice flavor combos and presentation with dry ice.
Service was very good though, and the entertainer really did a great job with the kids (at our table and others around us) - but there was just one for the whole front half/bar area we were seated in.
And when there was a misfire in the kitchen that delayed some items, we were told directly and honestly what had happened - which we absolutely appreciated - and kept informed along the way.
From other reviews, knew the food was going to be a question mark. Really wish management/ownership would seek a consultant to address the food sitch. This place isn’t going to make it unless they figure out how to impress people with consistent quality and freshly made food.
