Welcome to Hawksmoor Chicago, where we bring our acclaimed steakhouse experience from the UK to the iconic LaSalle Powerhouse in River North. Our ethos is simple: ‘Buy the best and let it shine.’ We serve all-natural, pasture-reared, dry-aged beef from US family-run farms, cooked over charcoal and seasoned simply with sea salt. Our seafood, sourced from trusted Northeastern fishermen, is prepared with equal care.

In our 16,500 sq ft space, featuring barrel-vaulted ceilings and touches from the Golden Age of Travel, Hawksmoor is perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re stopping by for cocktails, a casual lunch or a special celebration, we make sure you leave full and happy. We also offer private dining for groups of 10 to full venue buy-outs for 500—ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and corporate events.

And don’t miss our Sunday Roast: dry-aged beef, beef-dripping potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and bone marrow gravy—something like a Thanksgiving dinner every Sunday.

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

Have you heard of our Monday Wine Club? It’s a simple concept: bring any wine you like – doesn’t matter if it’s a first-growth Bordeaux or a bottle of Barefoot – and we’ll only charge you $10 corkage (for up to two bottles). Not sure what to buy? Take a stroll over to our neighbors at the Aqua Wine & Spirits store (they’re literally on the other side of the street) and they’ll help you choose something to make your meal pop. You can even call us ahead of time and ask one of our somms what they suggest.

Food was bland. Portion sizes for the steelhead and steak tartar were way to small. Same for the sides. The meat was very bland as well and over cooked. We asked for two of the steaks medium rare and they were all overcooked which is insane to me for a steakhouse. They need to do better for how expensive it is you expect a certain quality and at the bare minimum for them to get you steak cooked properly. The best thing was the publican bread which is not even theirs.

This was honestly one of the highlights of our holiday season! What an absolutely fantastic experience! The restaurant is lovely, the entire staff are warm and welcoming, the drinks are amazing (the Bloody Mary is one of the best I’ve ever had and I’m from Wisconsin! Haha), and the food is absolutely phenomenal! Can’t wait to go back!

Sunday Roast - dry Yorkshire Pudding and hard to chew ‘pink’ roast beef. The cocktails were great, win by the glass very expensive.

Service was great and cocktails were creative and enjoyable. Food was so expensive and steaks were large not many smaller oz options. Sirloin was overcooked and asked for medium rare. Otherwise service was good and ambience was nice.

We’ve dined @ Hawksmoor NYC and now Chicago, and both were truly memorable experiences. In a city with so many steakhouse options, Hawksmoor Chicago is unique, understated, comfortable and ridiculously good. The potted beef & steak tartare appetizers are exceptional. Even the simple Boston lettuce salad was great. And the aged ribeyes… wow. Not sure how we found room for dessert, but I’m so glad we did. The sticky toffee pudding and Irish coffee have me convinced Hawksmoor is as good at desserts as it is at its main courses. And perhaps the best part is that our server, Berto, was truly outstanding. Our thanks to the full Hawksmoor team for doing what you do so very well.

Hawksmoor is a wonderful addition to Chicago's dining scene! We first discovered Hawksmoor several years ago in London and quickly made it a tradition to have Christmas Eve dinner at their Seven Dials location before returning to the States from our annual holiday trip. This year, our travels brought us to London earlier than usual, so we were unable to continue our tradition there. However, since Hawksmoor Chicago opened, we’ve had the pleasure of dining here several times, and we were thrilled to continue our Hawksmoor tradition—not in London, but in Chicago—tonight! Everything about Hawksmoor Chicago is wonderful—the food, ambiance, and service are all exceptional. The portion sizes are just right, and the quality of the steak and all ingredients shines through in every dish. In a city brimming with steakhouses, Hawksmoor stands out for being unpretentious, fun, and consistently delivering a perfect night out. We’re so excited to have this piece of London here in Chicago, and we’ll definitely be back soon!
