Located in the historic Fulton Market district of Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, il Carciofo is a Roman Italian restaurant drawing inspiration from the restaurants and markets in one of Chef Joe's favorite cities, Rome. The restaurant offers a seasonal menu of elevated yet familiar Italian fare with traditional antipasti, Roman-style pizzas, hand-rolled pastas produced daily in a dedicated pasta lab and market-driven mains that highlight the season's bounty.

    What a culinary dining experience this was with amazing Authentic Roman food. I went there with a friend who grew up in Italy and was completely impressed by how Rich and Authentic that the menu honored the Roman region of Italy. The quality of the food was superb. Our waiter guided us through wonderful selections and we had a five course meal that blew our minds and pallet. Restaraunt has a wonderful open modern concept, but still felt cozy at the same time. We sat by the open kitchen concept and felt like we were a part of the cooking experience. Absolutely love this spot will be going back.

    My wife and I had a wonderful time. Loved sitting at the Chef’s Counter and watching the Team work their magic. Maya Marie was a wonderful host and helped us schedule another reservation. Looking forward to our next( of many) dinners at il Carciofo.

    Huge fan of chef flamm. Couldnt wait to try il carciofo. The basil daisy cocktail is deadly in the best way. I could have ordered and drank a pitcher. Pasta carbonara was next level insane flavor. Not like anything iver ever had. Made the power move of asking for bread at the end of the meal so we could wipe the plates clean and it was best decision i made

    Artichokes, tagliatelle and zeppole were phenomenal. Server did not come and check on us once while we were eating.

    Food was excellent. Aglio e Olio was a perfectly executed pasta along with the crudo and mortadella. Will definitely be back.

    Food was good, but not GREAT. Service was attentive, but forceful in a strong push to order everything at the same time - which was delivered in a way that felt like it was more for the restuarant’s benefit than ours. We enjoyed the meal, but not rushing to go back a second time.

    Had a wonderful meal once again. Chloe our waitress was attentive and very helpful with meal choices. Can’t wait to come back
