From Joseph and Esther DeQuattro of Pane Vino and Il Massimo of Federal Hill comes the much anticipated Il Massimo at Legacy Place. Il Massimo brings the quintessential Italian trattoria to Dedham, Massachusetts.

At IL Massimo we are proud to offer a seasonal Italian menu inspired by the regional cuisines of Italy. Signature dishes include Spaghettoni alla Carbonara with guanciale and a farm fresh egg, Point Judith Calamari en Padella, and the Pesce al Guazzetto with fresh local fish and little neck clams.

Service was excellent. Salads and appetizers were excellent. Everyone loved their meals - bolognese, risotto, gnocchi and a mushroom pasta dish. Desserts were great - tiramisu. cannoli. Enjoyed it all. One drawback - not crazy about the u-shaped booths for four.

This was our first visit to Ii Massimo - but certainly not our last. The food was fantastic - especially the eggplant parm. The drinks were superb. And, Peter , our server was attentive, charming and very PROfessional. We had a great time and can’t wait to return.

We had a really positive experience here. The manager and server were incredibly helpful and accommodating with our large group.

My friend and I both had the prix fixe lunch. Great value. I had the gnocchi, and my friend had the chicken piccata, which looked like a dinner portion. Both were excellent, as were the salads and the tiramisu. Our server was great, as were the rest of the staff. My wife and I will definitely go for dinner there soon!

My neighbor and I enjoyed the Presto Lunch at Il Massimo in Dedham, and will definitely be back. Not only is the Presto Lunch an excellent value, but we really appreciated the variety of food options. We both ordered something different for all three courses, and we both loved what we ordered. The portions were also large for lunch, and we both took about half of our entree home to enjoy later. On a side note, I'm very particular about eggplant parmigiana, and the eggplant parmigiana I had at Il Massimo was wonderful, and worth a return trip just to have that again. In addition, my neighbor must have gluten free options for medical reasons, and not only did they have a lot of gluten free options for her to choose from, she said everything she ordered was delicious, and she is already planning her next visit with another friend.

Two friends celebrated their birthdays with the 3-course lunch and a glass of Procesco. It was a delight to see a special birthday sign on the table and confetti when we were seated. A wonderful and welcoming touch! Our server, Peter Z., was outstanding . Very attentive and professional, and friendly. He made the celebration special for us. I would recommend this place for a celebration or just meeting friends. The 3-course lunch was a great value, and generous portions and delicious-we had the chicken parm and the chicken picattta.

The server, Rodrigo, was excellent. It was very busy and we were celebrating my wife's 75th birthday in a party of four. The food was okay, not great and not as good as the last time we were there. One problem that wasn't the vault of the restaurant but certainly was unpleasant for for us, was that it was quite cold outside and our table was positioned so that every time the doors were opened we got a blast of cold air. It was very uncomfortable the whole time we were there.
