The restaurant was very accommodating with me pre-ordering food via reservation due to my time constraints in the city. However, the warak enab cocotte was one of the saltiest dishes I’ve ever been served. I am familiar with this dish and am extremely aware that most places rinse their grape leaves before wrapping the rice because oftentimes, grape leaves are packaged in brine. I genuinely think they did not rinse the leaves nor did they check for seasoning because there’s no way they would’ve served that dish if they had. The lamb was also incredibly salty. The yogurt sauce was a welcome addition as it made a half-hearted attempt to cut the saltiness of the dish. I did not finish my meal. I was so excited to see warak enab on a menu because most places that serve stuffed grape leaves serve them cold while I grew up eating it warm. This meal was disappointing. The waitstaff, however was excellent and very attentive. All in all, I cannot in good faith recommend this restaurant.

Ilili was a fantastic discovery! I usually don’t go to Lebanese restaurants since I cook Lebanese food at home, but I wanted to introduce my friends to the cuisine, and it was a great success. We loved every dish we ordered, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I’ll definitely be back!

Dans une atmosphère très bruyante qui rend inaudible la demande de conseils pour la commande, et un incident non expliqué qui a différé d’une heure notre service, si les entrées étaient bonnes bien que pas tout à fait ce à quoi nous nous attendions, les plats sont arrivés tièdes voir froids et surtout beaucoup trop conséquents… un pour deux aurait suffit ce que n’a pu nous expliquer le personnel. Malgré un dessert offert pour s’excuser, je ne pense pas remettre les pieds dans cet établissement : mais sans rancune, les aléas …

The most authentic Lebanese food I’ve eaten outside of my mom’s kitchen! Everything was fresh, delicious and balanced. Kibbeh, mananek, shankleesh, fatoush and hummus were the perfect appetizers, while the lamb shank for two was so tender with a delicious jous and fresh yogurt sauce to cut through the richness. My favorite place to eat at when visiting Manhattan.

The server barely paid any attention to us. I had to get his attention 5-6 times to get us more drinks, clean the table, serve new dishes etc.

Great food! It was our first time. We struggled to find a table around town that could accommodate our big group but they were able to accommodate a group of 10 (with reservation)without any trouble. Service was impeccable and very attentive to all of our needs.
