メリーランド州イースタンショア出身のシェフChittumは、料理の腕だけでなく、地元の農家や、漁師、食品職人のネットワークから仕入れた食材へのこだわりでも知られています。Chittumと彼のチームは、ギリシャや、シチリア、サルディーニャ、南イタリアの料理にヒントを得て、中部大西洋地域でとれた最高級の食材を使用し、伝統や技術にアレンジを加えています。 ダイニングルームでは毎晩テイスティングメニューを提供しています。4コースのテイスティングメニュー（1名あたり60ドル（USD）、飲み物との組み合わせは追加料金40ドル）や、6コースのテイスティングメニュー（1名あたり80ドル、飲み物との組み合わせは追加料金50ドル）、シェフズ・テイスティング（1名あたり110ドル、ワインとの組み合わせは追加料金90ドル）を提供しています。また、メニューのカテゴリーから料理をお選びいただくことにより、カスタマイズも可能です。テイスティングメニューの内容は、旬の地元産の食材の入荷状況により頻繁に更新されます。また、食事制限やお好みに合わせたカスタマイズも可能です。

    We sat outside and froze on Valentine’s Day. We had 10pm reservations and you could tell the staff was exhausted by that point in the point.

    Wonderful Valentine’s Day experience with exceptional food and service. The restaurant is cozy, charming and romantic, but had to ding it one star on ambience because there were too many tables for the space making it a bit cramped. Wine choices were somewhat limited, but sommelier guided us to a fantastic wine. Overall an excellent experience and look forward yo returning!

    Our party of four dined at Iron Gate on a Monday evening at 7:00 PM. Two of us had dietary restrictions, which were handled smoothly by our waitstaff. Food and ambiance were lovely as we have come to expect. I think all of us liked every dish we had very much. One unexpected detraction was that there were a couple of noticeable delays in service: one at the beginning of the meal when there was a very long gap between our being seated an the arrival of an amuse-bouche, and one between the second and third courses. Our server apologized for both delays.

    It was wonderful to dine with you this evening. Griffin was a wonderful and knowledgeable server who went above and beyond. It was my birthday and even on restaurant week with a full house your staff provided amazing service (some of the best we’ve ever received in DC) and went above and beyond. We will come back again and gladly recommend you to our guests. Thank you for being so wonderful and for making me feel special.

    Value was great, but we were there for restaurant week, so I'm not sure what the regular menu prices might look like. However, everything we ate was incredible. Particular standouts were the grape leaf wrapped cod and the apple semifreddo. To be honest, we were more excited about some of our other plates (which were still amazing), but once we tasted those two dishes we were blown away. The wine pairing for the price fixe menu was spot on. Service was also excellent - not just our waitress, who was wonderful, but also hosts and bussers. This place is a little expensive to be one of our regular spots, but we'll keep coming back for anniversaries and other special occasions.

    We did the Restaurant week tasting menu. Every item on the menu was AMAZING. The bittersweet chocolate parfait is our new favorite dessert. We will definitely be back!
