We went with high expectations. They were met. The food, the service, and the atmosphere. Small footprint (downstairs, didn’t venture upstairs). Had an 8:00 reservation and were seated shortly before 8:00. We noticed they might have been short a sever, very busy. But we didn’t feel neglected. We took the opportunity to enjoy our dinner and take our time.
Whatever you do, order the Nasu kinoku. Mushrooms and eggplant in a butter based sauce. The sake was excellent. Sashimi too. Only disappointment was there was no tai sashimi left. So the otoro was the star. Had the vegetable tempura and it was what you would hope for. Will make this a regular stop when we are in Honolulu
