J. Gilbert's is an "upscale casual" steakhouse serving prime-aged beef cooked over a mesquite wood-fired grill. Guests enjoy various cuts of steak, fresh seafood (including award-winning crab cakes) & other house made favorites like the Maytag Bleu potato chips & Chocolate Velvet Cake. The cozy atmosphere includes fire side dining, rich wood, brick & soft lighting where you can enjoy a quiet table or host a large party. The extensive martini & wine list offers the perfect compliment to an excellent meal delivered with attentive service. J. Gilbert's is open for dinner 7 days a week. Reservations are recommended.

    Service was very good, the food overall was very good. The only downside was the Calamari was very overcooked, the kitchen really shouldn’t have sent it out, but they did. Everything else we ate was very good.

    First of all our server was a delight and did everything possible to make our experience better that she had control over. I ordered a small filet medium and a loaded baked potato. My steak came out well done and my potato under cooked. She took it back and had another steak and potato cooked. She asked me to cut into the steak and she immediately said that’s under cooked. Had me keep the potato as she took the steak back to the kitchen. My new potato was still under cooked and medium warm at best. When my steak came out it was cooked ok but by spouse was about done eating. Our bill with tip was $290. Nothing taken off and no manger came over with an apology or a reduction of the bill. We will not be going back anytime soon although we live three blocks away.

    When we came in, we were really impressed. We had a reservation at 8:30. We were seated right away. The server was super nice. Then, things started getting kind of “eh.” Our food came out almost an hour later; 1 plate was great, but the other was cold. The venue did comp one drink and soup for the inconvenience of the wait and the cold food.

    We always enjoy J.Gilbert’s but last night was particularly good. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and they presented a hand written birthday card with a free birthday dessert. Our server Ian was amazing, funny and knowledgeable of the menu! We split the full rack of ribs that came with 2 sides. And split a salad. It was so good. We split his birthday dessert which was chocolate cake with raspberry ice cream and were stuffed. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!

    We’ve been coming here since it opened. Tonight we had our best waitress we’ve ever had. It was such a good dinner thank you!

    Very enjoyable evening. Courtney provided excellent service and was very accommodating. The food was excellent. Parking is still a challenge. Supposedly there would be parking available on the street but that was not the case. We parked in the Marriott lot which was more expensive than planned.
