   The food was good it was nice to meet the chefs and talk to them about the special menu for international woman’s day ! It goes well to fusion Mexican and Peruvien cuisine! I have been to Jarana many times and have also visited Gaston and Astrid’s restaurants in lima and the rest of the world and they never disappoint !

   Excellent ambiance and food. Service is OK. We ordered the phased menu with wine harmonization. We had to remind the waiter about the wine. The check was incorrect and the waiter noted and brought the correct one.

   Most dishes were great! We has: wonton tuna tacos, chicken croquettes, ceviche, and marinated octopus and chocolate cake. However, the fish stew I had was a bit oversalted. Our party of 4 got there at 1pm on a Sunday and the restaurant had plenty of seats. Service was quick. Definitely recommended this spot.

   What an excellent evening! Amazing chefs were present for this evening: Martha Palacios, Gastón Acurio and Diego Oka. The fixed menu was an absolute delight showcasing some of the tastiest dishes at Jarana. The music was lively and the pisco drinks were flowing! Our family had a wonderful night at Jarana! And although it was a packed house, the wait staff was attentive and cleared our plates in between each dish.

   Even with Gaston Acurio present, the food was average and the service was OK. The problem with the food is not the quality of ingredients, all of which are high. The problem of the food is that in most instances it is overly salty and at times the flavors are imbalanced. It is always such a pleasure to eat at Gaston’s restaurants in Peru, but it seems that the magic cannot be exported successfully outside of Peru. For most people who do not know the difference between great gastronomy & average, Jarana will be fine.
