   A new addition to the NYC restaurant scene but with some amazing pedigree given chef Paul Carmichael's past experience at restaurants like Ko and Seiobo in Sydney. It's a three course extravaganza with plenty of food with a wide range of flavors and textures that harken to the Caribbean (think jerk, creole, curry) and offer plenty of dimensionality. Toss in a great wine and beverage program, warm service, and it's a great night out.

   Having had a very special experience at Ko, plus being a huge Momofuku fan,coupled with listening to 2 podcasts featuring Chef Paul I had to check this one out. And it was a totally delightful experience. It was a rainy cold day, but entering into Kabawa and being greeted by smiles, good vibes, and awesome drinks made it feel oh so very Caribbean. Service was approachable and friendly. Venue was very similar to Ko - and… glad Chef Paul paid attention to the seat heights at the tables. Perfect. Food was inventive. Especially liked the mushroom and shrimp appetizers. We had the duck sausage, goat, and the cobra and all were hits. Special shout out to the rice, peas and sweet potatoes that came with the entrees. Each and all of them worked with each entree. Dessert was “OK”. The flan was too sweet for us and the Coconut Sorbet was a winner! And how often do you get to say to your table mates “you have to check out the restrooms!”? Improvements could be with the sound level of the super upbeat music and for us, the apps landed at the same time as the special extra plate of breads and toppings (which were: AMAZING!). Would have been better to have been able to enjoy the breads and spreads, but no one was complaining about a plethora of delicious treats. Great experience. Highly recommend. Especially when you need to get away from it all. Thank you Chef and Team!!

   Fun menu. Great vibe. Would absolutely go again. Highlight of the night had to be the jerk sausage.

   Opened this week and the service is already hitting on all fronts and the food matches... BUT the service was so warm and friendly and really stood out. Sat at the counter and watching them work it all and communicate so calmly for a place open for all of four days was great. Wine pairing was great and the sommelier was incredibly attentive and friendly. Of course, sitting at the counter I'm always afraid I'm too curious and make too much eye contact but I'm assuming the friendly vibe covers all. The chef in front of us (doing the grill work) could not have been more friendly/communicative/kind as I asked questions. Already trying to convince the wife to head back ASAP.

   A phenomenal ELEVATED culinary interpretation of The Caribbean Diaspora. The Curry Goat Confit along with the Japanese Sweet Potato pair with the Chenin Blanc Wine was Chef's Kiss!

    Had a great dinner. Good was delicious staff was excellent on recommendations. Also has the wine experience which was very good and had some Fun stories.
