Kachka features an award-winning menu of post-soviet inspired dishes including famous dishes such as the Herring under a fur coat, Rabbit in a clay pot, dumplings and much more. The restaurant is an homage to the dishes our chef/owner grew up eating. Kachka is open for indoor onsite dining. Walk-in lounge and bar seating are also available.

Our Lavka grocery is open from 11am-9pm daily with counter service ordering from our Lavka cafe and deli available from 11-3. Seating is first come first serve on our upper patio or indoor lounge tables.

We have proudly replaced tipping with a 22% service fee in order to provide a base wage of $25 per hour and free healthcare for all employees. More information is available at kachkapdx.com/wage-equity

Passover Seder meal to benefit HIAS (a global Jewish nonprofit that assists and protects refugees of all faiths), which is currently providing instrumental aid to displaced Ukrainians. Kachka has served seder meals at various venues in Oregon, as well as the James Beard House, but this is the fourth time we’ll host a Seder at the restaurant. This evening of community and ritual will be led by Portland educator and performance artist Hannah Treuhaft, who will weave storytelling, song and purpose into this special night. Doors will open at 5:30pm and the seder will begin promptly at 6pm. The meal will be four courses, beginning with Kachka’s “Seder Plate” Zakuski, served with plenty of house made matzot, and accompanied by Kachka’s take on the “Four Cups of Wine”— four house made grape-based vodka infusions. Dinner will be communal seating and served family style. Please reach out to gm@kachkapdx.com if you have seating requests and we'll do our best to accommodate. We politely decline dietary restrictions for this event.

My experience at Kachka was amazing. I've never had this type of cuisine before, but my server was so helpful in helping me decide what to order. I ended up doing the ruskie zasuki experience which is $40/person for an assortment of plates and it was more than enough food for 1 person. Every time a dish was dropped off, they helped to explain what the food was and how to eat it. I also tried the dumplings and a couple of the infused vodkas - horseradish and earl grey. Really recommend!

Truly exceptional from start to finish. As a 3rd generation Belarusian immigrant, it was so beautiful to connect with a part of my heritage that was abandoned. Superb food with incredible staff. Get the rabbit, you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic meal. Service was impeccable. We went with server recommendations for most items and they were fantastic. Highlights of the meal were: spinach pudding, beef carpaccio, and the cod liver buterbrodi. The cabbage rolls reminded me of a dish my great grandmother used to make- which goes to show how well Kachka honors the heart of recipes while still making them feel special and fresh. I do wish we had gone here with another couple vs as a party of two as it is very family style, but this place is not to be missed. Rarely do you find places that have blended modern and homey in such an elegant way. We’ll be back.

We attended a wine tasting event for the wines of Georgia (the country in the Caucasus, not the state in the US). We enjoyed sampling the wines which were intriguingly different than our usual California and Oregon vintages. We bought a couple of bottles to take home (plus stocking up on Kachka's delicious pelmeni). The wine importer who was hosting the event was a pleasure to talk to; friendly and knowledgeable. The Kachka staff were, as they always are in my experience, courteous and efficient. Altogether it was a very pleasant experience and a good value as well.

We have been coming here for many years now. Both private events, and covid, and normal reservations like last night. So consistent, bravo!

Everything we ordered - 6 entrees - was DELICIOUS! The service was very friendly, fun and excellent overall. Bob was perfect, and they all work together as a serving team to ensure all guests are served. While very delicious, we felt the portions were slightly smaller [breads, dumplings, pickles, other items] than about 2-3 years ago, which didn't always equal. Family style becomes more of a 2 person share than 3-4 people.
