A landmark experience. A dining and drinking destination. A historic tradition. Since its inception, the Kaufman House has been a gathering place for travelers, neighbors and friends. Today, Kaufman Tavern continues and updates the tradition, providing a warm welcome, restorative libations and a fun, comfortable, exquisite dining experience. The food is the real star here: a top-notch, scratch-made, local, eco-friendly and--most importantly--delicious dining experience. Our menu reflects the best of the US and the bounty of our region. Cajun and creole. Northern and Southern. The East and West coasts and beyond. This is hand made, lovingly crafted, just plain good food. Kaufman Tavern is new American cuisine at its finest.

    Beautiful place inside and out. When it seemed a bit loud upstairs they offered a table in the wine cellar which was near. Server (Val?) was friendly and really great, calm and composed even when dealing with a tough customer a few tables over from us.

    We love going to Kaufmann's for special events, like Valentine's Day. They never disaapoint. The food is excellent!

    Overall very good experience - No complaints. The hanger steak (my go-to when on a menu) was one of the best I've had...Super tender and connective tissues trimmed out, on a med-small cut fry poutine. SO good. Wild mushroom soup could have had a little more flavor, but still not a complaint. Smoked wings (dry rubbed, sauces on side - balsamic chili & bbq) the BBQ sauce was definitely not run of the mill - much more unique flavor while still being BBQ sauce, and the balsamic chili was an excellently made sauce. Love that they had a slew of drinks to choose from - especially Arsenal - and chocolate torte was wonderful also. Service was a little on the slow side, but they were very busy and the bartender and hostess were chipping in to run food, bus tables, etc. which is great to see, shows a well-run restaurant where the employees help each other out so everyone's experience is good - not just their section, when one of them gets in the weeds. I'll absolutely go back and hopefully try something new - but that hanger steak... MMMMMM!!!!!

    We are never disappointed dining here. The food was excellent as always, and the service was top notch. The only drawback was the noise level. It was so loud that we could barely converse. Granted it was Friday night and people were letting off a little steam, but in the future I think we will stick to mid week nights when it is less crowded.

    Such an enjoyable evening with friends enjoying delicious food, drink, desserts and the vibe of eating in the bar area. Service was also exceptional. Will definitely be back!

    We had great service when we stopped by for Sunday brunch. Overall the food was good. The homemade andouille sausage patty on the breakfast sandwich was overcooked and dry, which was disappointing but flavorful.
