At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. Our meat comes from ABR butchers, based in Bearsden.
Our executive chef, Christopher Hutchison, creates amazing, innovative dishes to be enjoyed and shared with friends and loved ones. We now have an AA rosette for 2023/2024 to highlight his and the teams amazing work. We are located on Cowcaddens Road, just around the corner from our sister restaurant, Ardnamurchan Restaurant and Bar and a stones throw from the theatre royal. Perfect for a meal before a show. Relax in our modern, airy restaurant and watch the chefs work in the open kitchen. Our signature dish is our crab doughnut, you'll be amazed!

    Lovely place, food excellent. Second time here. I’d say service was not the greatest in this occasion. This second time we went was midweek and the staff was not the same we met before. On the Saturday (just few days before) the staff was amazing and the experience was 5 starts from start to finish.

    I had tried to book their sister restaurant Ardnamurchan not knowing about Kelp but there was not availability at the time required. They suggested trying Kelp and it did not disappoint. Equally well located for visiting after the Theatre Royal. We were there at 5:30 so quiet when went in but starting to fill up as time went on. Service was attentive, polite and well timed. Food was perfect. We had the market menu which was excellent value. We are not often in Glasgow but would definitely return when we are.

    Exciting experience. Service was really good and food just amazing. I could have easily ordered twice each plate. Balanced flavours and fresh produce. Will be back soon

    Fabulous evening. The food, as always, was excellent .The service was just perfect. Our waiter was an example of just what exactly good service should be . Perfect 👌

    This chef knows what he is doing, that's for sure. Beautifully soft trout cured in treacle and whisky was outstanding - sweet, smokey, salty and delicately trouty! The stone bass crudo was kissed with fresh, wafer thin green chilli and blood orange which worked perfectly. The pairing of ingredients in all dishes was imaginative - but more importantly, they work. Why it wasn't mentioned in the Michelin guide this Year again is beyond me. And the service... friendly and knowledgeable. Simply a great little restaurant.

    Beautiful restauarant,lovely staff providing excellent service.Felt the food was a bit hit and miss some outstanding dishes but there not great. Market menu was good value and was the wine list.
