Khmai Cambodian is Inspired by the childhood experiences of our founder, Mona Sang, and her mother, Sarom Sieng, who survived the Cambodian genocide, our menu pays tribute to their unwavering resilience and passion for cooking. As a James Beard Semifinalist for Best New Restaurant in 2023, Khmai Cambodian has earned acclaim for its commitment to preserving and showcasing the culinary treasures of Cambodia.

Also enjoy our new concept Kaun Khmai, where the spirit of Cambodia comes alive through bold flavors and vibrant experiences. So disappointing. They started by being over 30 min late to seat us, and everything went downhill from there. Outside of the server being very friendly and kind, everything else was a total let down. I’ve been wanting to try this place for a year, but it’s an hour drive and we had to make a night of it. By the time they think us to our table, the tasting menu wasn’t available. Ok, fine, we’ll order off the regular menu. No notification that abutting was out until we ordered. Then, we try to order a couple mains, both also out. We ended up just taking what we could get. Am the planning an effort to make it to this restaurant, and we aren’t seated in reasonable time of our reservation, then followed by nothing being available to order, it was a waste of a trip to the city for a long awaited date night away from the kids (Saturday after Valentine’s Day). Very sad.

Khmai was a wonderful experience! The service and food were both excellent. My husband and I are newbies to Cambodian food, so we had lots of questions about the menu. Our waiter, Dakota, was happy to answer all of them and give recommendations based on our preferences. The staff is well-prepared to help customers, which made the experience even better. All the food was delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try something from the ever-changing menu.

Lovely space, good service (except when initial dishes came too quickly after each other). Food was very good (especially Laab Sach Ko). Main courses were just not to our taste, but fine.

The food was great but I had issues with the service. According to the menu, the ice cream I ordered for dessert should have come with cookies. When I told the server that no cookies came with it, his reply was “not tonight” and then he left to attend another table. No explanation, no apology, no alternative, no discount was offered and I found that pretty unprofessional.

We did the full tasting menu, and we weren’t disappointed. There were so many different flavors to be experienced throughout the dishes, and by the end, we were sufficiently full. Highly recommend, and we look forward to the more casual dining experience on the other half of the restaurant space.

Service was outstanding! Very attentive. Food was fabulous also. Some sauces were highly flavored and took away from the main event. But the dish was great without the sauce.

Recommendations by our server Dakota were amazing and were right amount of dishes for our party of 4. Don’t miss the egg rolls, shredded mango salad and the chicken curry! Great atmosphere, delicious and flavorful dishes, fabulous service!
