It is a lovely setting and the pub looks really nice, the type of old school pub feel but modern.
I'm afraid that is as good as it got really.
The tables felt sticky to touch, although visually clean. The menu's looked well worn visually and could of done with being reprinted.
The service was quick and they staff were very pleasant and welcoming.
We order Sunday roast, the price was reasonable and the portions were more than adequate, a nice hearty size portion so no complaints there.
The food was not that great, even thought he plate was hot, most of the food was luke warm. The roast potatoes were not crispy and lacked any real flavour, they were also not nice and fluffy inside. We had the trio of meats, Beef, Pork and Chicken. I have to say, the chicken was cooked to perfection and was very delicious. The beef was very over cooked and touch (Glad I did not have the beef roast!) the Pork belly was again overcooked so too soft. You get loads of vegetables on the plate and a further side dish. The carrots were very delicious, the rest of the vegetables were bland. We ordered a side of cauliflower cheese, and these were whilst piping hot, under cooked and not that cheesy either. The Yorkshire puddings were a good size and tasty.
Based on the above, we would not return. Some of the other food that came out of the kitchen did look nice but was disappointing overall to warrant coming back when there are so many other pubs and restaurants to chose from.
