I had made reservations. When they sat us down, we were seated on a bench type thing, inches away from another couple. Did not feel intimate at all, felt like fast food seating.
Our cloth napkins (they were black) were dirty, and my husband's plate was dirty.
Our waitress was nice, but definitely had like a more casual tone to her, than what we would have expected for this type of restaurant. There was loud music playing (and a weird DJ booth in the corner with a live DJ), the place is supposed to be like kind of hawaiian themed, but the music playing was like 90s alternative.
We ordered our food, and my husband got what the waitress claimed to be the "best thing on the menu" the Fried Rice with Steak Strips. The steak strips were fatty, and the portion of rice was super small (it was $24) I ordered the macadamia nut chicken ($34). It came on a small, narrow rectangle shape plate, overflowing with mashed potatoes. My chicken was not juicy, and tasted and looked like it was just a pre made frozen chicken breast they heated up in the microwave. My sangria was good.
The manager came by once and asked if our table was wobbly, but he didn't ask us how our food was (and we were in the middle of eating). Every other place I have been to, when a manager has come by, he asks how everything is, he did not.
We paid on one of those kiosk things that are on the tables at Red Robin, and as we were leaving, we tried to give some of the feedback to the manager that had come to our table. Told him we were displeased. He offered some cake, but my husband is lactose intolerant so we declined. He did not offer anything else to try and get us back as customers (not that we were trying to get anything for free, but I would think as a new restaurant, you would want repeat customers).
$100 is better spent across the street at McCormicks.
Needless to say, we won't be back.
