An homage to the San Jacinto Inn, La Lucha offers a unique and indulgent menu complete with the freshest Gulf Coast-only oysters, shrimp, crab, warm biscuits and satisfying fried chicken dinners. Meaning “the Fight,” in reference to the Battle of San Jacinto, La Lucha embraces it’s rebellious side with its beverage selections, surprising guests with a variety of bubbly wines, outstanding craft beers and the essential stellar tequila and mezcal offerings. La Lucha’s comfortable atmosphere pays tribute to chef-owner Ford Fry’s childhood memories, meshes timeless and industrial with a few nods to the 70s.

    Came specifically for the Chicken and Waffles and it did not disappoint. The chicken was delicious. I also ordered the Crawfish Bread which was a crawfish cream cheese sauce flattened out on French bread. Will be back specifically to order this!!! Sooo good!

    While La Lucha is one of my favorite restaurants, this wasn’t a very enjoyable experience. It was unusually warm inside, and both my husband and myself were quite warm. From the sweating vents and condensation dripping down every few minutes, it’s apparent that the HVAC was struggling. The air conditioning wasn’t the only thing struggling. Our server, Chris wasn’t his normal chipper self at no fault of his own. Service was lacking due to being short staffed. My go to side of fries were lukewarm and not piping hot like it usually is… and also a bit bland. Oyster dip carried this dish. Sad because we were truly looking forward to a weekend La Lucha date, but were left disappointed. High notes: oysters were great as always —Isle Dauphine were my favorite. Shrimp tacos were hot and crispy. Cocktail was tasty.

    Loved our dinner here. We will be back. Fantastic burger. Incredible. One of the best I’ve had in Houston. Highly recommend. The crawfish poboy was unique and delicious. Oyster deal was a great appetizer. Really top notch.

    Our waiter was very attentive and gave great recommendations. The fried chicken was AMAZING!!! The sauces and biscuits were worth the 40 min drive! My daughter loved the grilled shrimp. We will definitely return.

    One of the best restaurants in Houston. The best chicken and waffles in the city. I am here about once a week. The service is amazing and the food is always great. The tacos are too die for.

    We have been here many times because the fried chicken and shrimp and biscuits are the best anywhere around. We also love the Pharmacy burger. This night however the biscuits were totally bland as was the fried chicken. Both needed some salt. We were a little disappointed.
