Lake Avenue Restaurant & Bar in Duluth, Minnesota has been around since 1991, back when Canal Park was better known as an industrial harbor rather than a tourist location. The interior at Lake Avenue Restaurant & Bar has a cozy feel to it, thanks in large part to the reclaimed lumber used for the tables, booths and bar as well as thriving plants. When the weather is nice, you can dine on our deck, furnished with Loll patio furniture made locally.
We are a small restaurant, limited to 15 tables and 70 seats indoors. Because of this we are not able to accommodate groups larger than 8 people. If your party is larger than 8 people, please understand that your group may be split at separate tables, potentially not near each other. Please call us to discuss accommodating your large group events.
Due to the invariability of Duluth weather, our deck is non-reservable (with or without dogs) and subject to be closed without much notice. We seat the patio on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Amazing service-very informative about the menu and suggestions. The food was delicious. Had the steak salad which was so flavorable, Mac and cheese was comfort food for sure and bread pudding was to die for. You can’t go wrong with this place. It is one of our favorite stops to celebrate a special birthday.

This is one of our must stop restaurants when visiting Duluth. Unfortunately this time was just ok. We both ordered the venison ramen and were equally disappointed. The flavor was just so so. This one experience certainly won’t detract us from returning.

Waitress never showed us the HH menu. We missed out on a $10 bottle of wine. Mention to the waitress after we heard about from 2 tables next to us and all she said was “sorry about that”. Won’t be going back there.

Love Lake Ave! Great food, friendly knowledgeable staff. Great place to have a dress-up or casual meal where the food is always top-shelf. Great location in the hustle and bustle atmosphere of Canal Park.

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this little gem of a restaurant! The food is fantastic and the drinks are creative and tasty as well. I will most certainly be back!

This restaurant does everything right. Tasty, interested, inventive food. Wonderful service. Great date night atmosphere. It is--and has been for a long time--the best dinner spot in Duluth.

I had a mid-week dinner with two other people at Lake Avenue Cafe. We were seated at a booth nicely separated from a large party, so we could talk easily. All of us were happy with our entrees - burger, curried chicken and vegetarian chili. One shared salad and dessert (limoncello ice cream) were also good. Our one disappointment was the beer list. It was limited and only contained boring, mass- produced beers. We opted for a hard cider which was a good choice. I would definitely return.
