Was pretty quiet for a Saturday night so not much atmosphere and the service was pretty mediocre considering it wasn’t busy. Food was nice, but pretty average.

If you like bland food, you will love it here. If you’ve ever been to Spain and like their spicy flavorful food, you will not like the food. We thought we would start out with a few tapas, then order a bit more food. Unfortunately, we couldn’t even finish the tapas. We ordered the patatas bravas, which traditionally comes with a spicy tomato sauce on top. These had no sauce or spice at all...it was simply fried potatoes with garlic and some of the potatoes were underdone. My husband ordered gambas al ajillo, which is traditionally in a very garlicky chili sauce. His had barely any chili and the prawns were boiled rather than fried with no tails. Normally the tails are kept on to give more flavor. We had the pimientos de padrón. Didn’t think you could mess up this dish, but it was also bland...the mildest peppers you could find with way too much salt. He also had the baby octopus, which was meant to come in a hot spicy sauce. That spicy sauce mainly consisted of a really heavy amount paprika, not chili. The sangria was basic, only cut up pieces of lemon in it...no oranges or apples. Highly disappointed. The waiter claimed it wasn’t spicy in order to cater to German tastes. Not every customer in a restaurant will be German and the customer should be given an option of how spicy they would like the food. Everything was just so bland. Not authentically Spanish AT ALL.

If you can ignore the cold, rather ugly building it is in, and the somewhat unspecial location, the interior of the restaurant is neatly atmospheric. I am not a tapas expert but everything tastes really good, and the house wine is excellent. I think this place is good for both a date and also a large group dinners because of the relatively private table setup. The rustical interior concept feels quite authentic to what you expect from a Spanish country side restaurant. The best is, they are not trying hard. So, I recommend this place.

Lacklustre! Whatever you do, don’t order the pollo y gambas.. unless you’re an extraterrestrial whose mouth salivates at the thought of ingesting dry chicken breast and miniature shrimp in a sea of creamy celery sauce. The pan con tomate resembled a snack that one hurriedly concocts when you’re famished or simply masochistic. A shame for a Spanish restaurant. The queso con frito was decent... at best. It reminded me of the fish fingers that graced my plate at the school’s canteen. You guessed it, I won’t be returning.
