LATHA, Swahili for flavor, celebrates Africa and the diaspora’s rich and diverse cuisines. The menu curated by Executive Chef Digby Stridiron honors the interconnected journey of the foodways and culture of Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean, and the Southern United States. Our contemporary pan-African kitchen respects historical recipes and crafts cuisine from thoughtfully sourced seasonal ingredients that reveal the connections between Africa and the diaspora. It is a journey of discovery along the trails of our ancestors, telling the authentic stories of the foodways and how they have shaped eating habits and cuisine worldwide. We invite guests to join us on a flavorful journey of discovery and appreciation. LATHA, in downtown Phoenix, in Heritage Square, is a place to have a shared immersive experience with friends or family while enjoying food, drinks, music, and culture in our dining room, bar, or outside patio. I have been wanting to have a meal at Latha for some time, and this past Thursday was the night. Latha is the Swahili word that means flavor and that is what you get from the Uncle Old Fashioned (made with Uncle Nearest 1884 and Brown Sugar) to the Whipped Goat Cheese with black garlic honey and sumac to the burnt onion hummus served with chapati and the watermelon feta salad with awaze honey vinegarette and the oxtail pimento cheese grilled cheese. ALL FLAVOR! If you are in the Phoenix area, or plan to be, I would highly recommend making a reservation at Latha.

Always a great experience at Latha! It is awesome that Ms. E visits each guests and checks in. The food is a fusion of flavors in your mouth😋 Joey, our server, was very kind and very accomodating. You can never go wrong choosing to dine at Latha! #period

Cannot say enough great things about our dinner. Latha has been on my list for awhile and it was so worth the wait. We will be back soon!

Phenomenal experience with exceptional food! The vibe is real… Really amazing, eclectic, full of soul and lots of flavor! The hospitality makes you feel like family especially when the owner comes to greet you personally. Highly recommend treating yourself to the live entertainment by visiting Friday and Saturday or Sunday for brunch. Can’t wait for our next time! PS-The oxtail grilled cheese will change your life!

this still stands to be one of my most favorite restaurants in Phoenix. The combination of flavors is unmatched and every time I come, I find another dish that I am newly in love with. Can’t wait to return like always.

We had an amazing experience at Latha. From the customer service, the live music with Coco, the food, and the entire vybe we had was hands down the best experience. We were presented with African Day name bracelets for our birthdays. The SOKO market was so vibrant with colors and handmade products that we will definitely come back to shop gifts for the holiday! What a gem!!!
