LATHA, Swahili for flavor, celebrates Africa and the diaspora’s rich and diverse cuisines. The menu curated by Executive Chef Digby Stridiron honors the interconnected journey of the foodways and culture of Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean, and the Southern United States. Our contemporary pan-African kitchen respects historical recipes and crafts cuisine from thoughtfully sourced seasonal ingredients that reveal the connections between Africa and the diaspora. It is a journey of discovery along the trails of our ancestors, telling the authentic stories of the foodways and how they have shaped eating habits and cuisine worldwide. We invite guests to join us on a flavorful journey of discovery and appreciation. LATHA, in downtown Phoenix, in Heritage Square, is a place to have a shared immersive experience with friends or family while enjoying food, drinks, music, and culture in our dining room, bar, or outside patio.     This was our second time at this restaurant and our group quickly decided we needed to come back. Service, ambience and the food were superb. The food has such a different approach and taste, it is sublime. BRAVO!!

    Great food! A menu like nothing else in Phoenix and couple that with a creative bar is a wonderful combination. All food is fresh and delicious but save room for dessert. There are only two choices and we ordered both and split them between four of us.

    Three of us tried the chef’s journey for brunch and the 4th person had the chicken and waffle. Everyone enjoyed the watermelon salad and we also loved the whipped goat cheese. Two ordered the salmon and grits and one order of shrimp and grits. The salmon was a hit with the two that ordered it but I had the shrimp and grits and didn’t love it. Something with the sauce didn’t quite work for me. But the pineapple bandito was phenomenal as was the torte for dessert. The vibe at the restaurant was excellent. As we were celebrating two birthdays, Latha made a big deal about it and our birthday folks were regarded highly with both a comp dessert and a small gift. I will definitely be back to sample an evening menu. The service was OUTSTANDING. The employees were attentive and kind. It was the very best place to celebrate our birthdays and ourselves. Do not miss this Phoenix gem!!

    We live in downtown Phoenix and unfortunately waited way too long to visit Latha. It was a wonderful experience from the moment we walked into the building. Perfect evening to celebrate a birthday. Thanks !

    I was underwhelmed with the presentation. The restaurant was not busy when I arrived. I was seated in a remote corner and the server took a very long time to even recognize me. The drinks and food delivery was out of order. The food came too quickly and was delivered before the pre-dinner cocktail and the wine that I wanted to enjoy with my meal was brought after I was half through the meal. The food was decent. I probably will not be back. And unless you find a remote parking spot, you will be forced to pay $15.00 for Valet parking.
