LATHA, Swahili for flavor, celebrates Africa and the diaspora’s rich and diverse cuisines. The menu curated by Executive Chef Digby Stridiron honors the interconnected journey of the foodways and culture of Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean, and the Southern United States. Our contemporary pan-African kitchen respects historical recipes and crafts cuisine from thoughtfully sourced seasonal ingredients that reveal the connections between Africa and the diaspora. It is a journey of discovery along the trails of our ancestors, telling the authentic stories of the foodways and how they have shaped eating habits and cuisine worldwide. We invite guests to join us on a flavorful journey of discovery and appreciation. LATHA, in downtown Phoenix, in Heritage Square, is a place to have a shared immersive experience with friends or family while enjoying food, drinks, music, and culture in our dining room, bar, or outside patio.     What a wonderful evening. Latha has an excellent menu selection and everything we chose had phenomenal spices and flavors. Truly a unique experience. Thoroughly enjoyable. The wine -a south african syrah was lovely. We shared the watermelon salad and wings which were both so yummy, The duck and the oxtail were loaded with flavor and oh soooo good. Our waiter Oscar and the manager (we didn't get her name) were so friendly and knowledgeable as was all the staff there.

    Brunch at Latha is a special occasion in itself. Every employee treats you like royalty. The food is an experience & we have loved the flavor combinations of each dish. Start with the whipped goat cheese (with extra bread) & don't be embarrassed if you need to order another or get caught licking the bowl. We enjoyed trying the watermelon salad, chicken & waffles, grilled cheese sandwich, the shrimp Aguachile & the Dayboat shrimp & grits. We've also sampled the passion fruit torte & the Southern pound cake (my favorite). Their version of an espresso martini is delicious, but I suggest being a bit more adventurous with the Pineapple Caipirinha.

    Just enjoyed a date night at Latha with my husband and had a wonderful experience! The staff was attentive, the food was incredibly delicious, and the live music really added to our dining experience! I highly recommend treating yourself to their dining “journey” where you get to pick an appetizer, entree, and dessert for one price.

    It was a great experience, excellent food & service, and the nicest birthday surprise! The only negative was the two competing outdoor music scènes. Both good music, but together at the same time not so much. But would go back anyway 😉

    The place was busy, great vibe, ate dinner in the bar with a friend. The staff was attentive and the food was delish. Loved the watermelon salad, the whipped feta dish and the burger was delicious. Love this place!
