At Lavanta we create fresh, authentic Mediterranean and European cuisine learned over a lifetime in family kitchens and restaurants from the south of Turkey to the north of England. From amazing mezes, flame-seared mixed grills and succulent steaks to seafood platters, gourmet burgers and woodsmoked pizzas, our dishes are prepared with the finest ingredients, and always with passion and pride.

It is hard to believe we are approaching our third anniversary since opening in October 2015, and it has been a wonderful journey, made possible by our fabulous customers, many of whom have become welcome regulars. We remain always overwhelmed by your kind messages and five star reviews which have made us one of the top restaurants in Leeds on Trip Advisor.

My 4th visit to this establishment, we love it . The staff had to put up with one of our guest that was a little drunk but happy. The staff were very professional, the food was on point , I had the mixed grill this time and I wasn't disappointed. We'll back again

We are returning customers and would always rate his place highly but stars were lost because the restaurant was uncomfortably cold. So much so that my partner kept his coat on throughout the meal and despite having a jumper on my back, which was facing the door was very cold. When we told the server at the end of the meal that the food was delightful but the ambient temperature was poor something was mumbled about heating problems and pass it on. Not a great response. Let’s hope hat this is sorted because otherwise this is an excellent restaurant.

We had to move tables out the way to get my wife's wheelchair to table and was really hard to get to disabled toilet. Food, service and atmosphere was great 👍 if it was busier we could have had to ask other customers to move there tables

Excellent service from staff as soon as we got there and throughout the evening. It was a 60th birthday celebration and we had our own cupcakes which the staff served for us and even sang happy birthday! Food was absolutely amazing and the portions were very substantial. Great night out and would go again and recommend to others to go too.

Having been before on a weekday when there was hardly any one in, we booked in advance, a table for two (older ladies) at 7:30 for Saturday evening. We were unable to add an additional guest later. The restaurant was indeed full. Once order was taken it was a little slow for food to arrive but it was well worth the wait. My friend is veggie so we chose five meze dishes which were delicious. Although we weren’t keen on their take on shakshuka, I guess that is down to personal taste and is not a complaint. The staff are all lovely and very friendly. Cost was shared between two - one had just lime & soda and paid £23, other had two G&Ts and paid £36 (I think) so not bad value. Good definitely go again.

This is my second time going to Lavanta, staff are amazing. My youngest (a very fussy eater) was struggling to find something to eat from the menu, the staff were completely understanding and accommodating, offered a to make whatever they felt like eating. Food is absolutely delicious, the quality, the amount and the flavour. There’s so much to choose from and at reasonable prices. The ambiance was lovely and peaceful. Enjoyed a lovely family meal out. I’ll definitely will be returning for some more delicious food. This restaurant is definitely a gem that needs recognising.

Excellent overall experience. Very appetising menu to select from. Perfectly cooked, flavoursome food. Will most certainly return when next in the area.
