Le Pain Quotidien means the daily bread. And to us, that means everything. It’s much more than mere sustenance; it’s a way of life. As our loaves emerge from the ovens, warm and fragrant, friends gather around our communal tables to share in the time-honoured tradition of breaking bread.
Located on Elm Street, in the heart of New Canaan’s downtown shopping district, we are steps away from the Metro North train station. With vaulted ceilings and a chapel-like façade, our store is perhaps one of the most unique buildings on Elm Street! We love inviting our neighbors to gather for events – in fact, we host the New Canaan “Newcomers’ Club” once a month and welcome a local middle school French class to immerse themselves in francophone culture and cuisine annually. Join us for a delicious Avocado Toast at our communal table, or simply enjoy a Belgian brownie and cappuccino on our outdoor patio as the rest of New Canaan passes by.
Good lunch menu selections. I ordered frittata which was appropriately prepared and was served warm. It came with a light salad of fresh greens with light dressing, cand very good artisanal bread. Service was good, the waitress was informed and helpful when there was a question of how cappuccino is served. The ordering was organized and the receipt was provided. Only unusual aspect was that customers are asked to add gratuity by percentage (that is fine) before the meal was served. Otherwise the overall experience was good.
