Situated under a canopy of old growth trees on Lake Joyce, this natural gem serves seasonal fare from tidal Virginia. The menu reflects freshness with a distinct emphasis on showcasing the inherent colors and flavors of the ingredients. The cafe's bakery provides all its breads and deserts and is open for retail on the weekends. This fresh approach to food done in a natural and unpretentious setting has been a local favorite for twelve years. If you don't see your desired time slot available give us a call.

                        Outstanding brunch experience. The cafe was very amenable to us increasing our party by two people with 30 min notice and took care of us with grace and a hospitable welcome. The food was well prepared, tasty, and beautifully presented. Options for all tastes.

                        This was our first visit to Leaping Lizard. We sat at the bar and we really enjoyed it. The food was outstanding and the and the service was great. We will definitely be back.

                        We found this place years ago. We’ve been back many times. The food and service has always been great. It’s a nice farm to table establishment with a bakery attached.

                        Food was outstanding. Fresh and delicious. An eclectic atmosphere and very inviting. I didn’t like the cake I ordered. Chocolate almond. It was so sweet you couldn’t eat it. Wait staff was very attentive. Highly recommend!
