I had high hopes for Leblon. The food was good but I’ve had tastier meats at other Brazilian steakhouses- the cooking or the cut was off. Normally filet mignon is very tender, but mine was so tough that I couldn’t eat it. It was unevenly cooked and possibly cut with the grain so as to make it tough. My favorite cut is usually the Picanha but that was lacking a bit of flavor. My favorite here was the flank steak. I also normally don’t get the bacon wrapped chicken at Brazilian steakhouses but I did get it here and it was tender and not dry. The bacon could’ve been crispier but I find that is the case with the bacon wrapped meats at Brazilian steakhouses in general. The pork ribs were also on point but sadly, when we requested the ribs to come back to our table, they never did- despite telling our server twice. I think he did a good job and did try to communicate this to the back of the house but the rib guy kept skipping our table or didn’t even look over at us. My brother in law was the one who really wanted it but he changed his mind when it took too long and then ultimately never came over to our table. I think the restaurant has a cool atmosphere and decor and being a newer restaurant, I’m sure it has some kinks to iron out. The biggest thing was the communication amongst the staff, the salad bar was good (salmon especially) but again, I’ve seen bigger ones with even more varied options. I’m hoping that with some better training for the cooking/seasoning and communication between front of the house and back of the house that this restaurant will continue to improve and thrive. The parking lot is still small and a pain to find parking in, but it’s been that way since the other two restaurants were there so I’m not sure much can be done to improve that. It’s so close to home for us, but as of right now, we would drive the extra 10-15 minutes to na Brasa because it’s better value and service for the price, currently.
