Moonee Ponds Local Chook is a favourite among locals for its imaginative/fusion take on Vietnamese cuisine, served in a modern restaurant.
For starters, the Bao Buns are sensational selections. Some of Local Chook’s specialty/popular dishes include the Red Chicken Curry and Twice cooked scotch fillet in plum sauce, as well as vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free dishes.

    Modern twist on Vietnamese food. Plenty of options, highly recommend the potato prawns for entree. BYO wine. Friendly and attentive wait staff. I can see Local Chook becoming my regular local go to.

    Food was fantastic, service was prompt and friendly, and value was very reasonable. The atmosphere was very pleasant on a Sunday afternoon.

    We went for lunch for a birthday with a large group, had we been told prior cocktails were not available during lunch we would of booked elsewhere when we booked, as we were there to celebrate Food was delish as always but we did feel rushed to order and leave which hindered the experience Evening experience has been much better than lunch on a leisurely Sunday

    Amazing restaurant. Loved everything. We ordered the feed me deal and they gave us complimentary chicken wings which ended up being my favourite dish.

    The standard of food never varies - excellent! The service is always good, the only negative is the noise, the restaurant is always full so the volume gets quite high.

    Delicious food and great value. Service is excellent and friendly. A bit noisy but that’s to be expected in a cosy restaurant. Will definitely have to try again.
