Enzo Rosano grew up in a town just outside of Naples, Italy. His fondest memories of his childhood are centered around his mother’s cooking and the spirited meals he shared with his eight siblings. Mama Carmela’s amazing cooking kept her children close to home throughout their childhood and young adulthood. Her culinary influence also played a role in Enzo’s decision to enroll in the Scuola Alberghieria Culinary and Hospitality program in Naples. Upon completion of his culinary training, Enzo landed a job as bartender at Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Vong’s in London. Next was a stop as bar manager at The Berkeley Knightsbridge, a luxury property also in London. When he came to the Bay Area, his first stop was in Half Moon Bay where he helped open one of the town’s most popular restaurants, Mezza Luna, with family friend, Roberto Giovanni. At Caffe Riace,Enzo joined his brothers and worked alongside them as they made plans to open AquaPazza in San Mateo in 2008

    My Review of Locanda Positano, Lafayette As a devoted fan of Neapolitan cuisine, I recently had the pleasure of dining @ Locanda Positano in Lafayette, & I can confidently say that it checks all my boxes for an authentic Neapolitan experience. My preference for Neapolitan restaurants stems from their focus on the vibrant flavors of southern Italy, where pasta, tomato sauce, seafood, & fresh vegetables take center stage. From the moment I stepped into Locanda Positano, I was welcomed by the warm and inviting atmosphere, reminiscent of a cozy trattoria in Naples. The staff, with their Neapolitan charm, immediately made me feel like part of the family. Their passion for the cuisine was palpable, and it set the tone for an enjoyable dining experience. The menu is a delightful celebration of southern Italian flavors, featuring an array of dishes that highlight the best of Neapolitan cooking. I was particularly impressed by the selection of pasta, which is made fresh daily. The rich, flavorful tomato sauces and perfectly cooked seafood showcased the essence of what Neapolitan cuisine is all about. Each dish was vibrant and packed with authenticity, transporting me straight to the bustling streets of Naples. In contrast to northern Italian fare, which often leans towards heavier ingredients like beef, dairy, and butter, Locanda Positano stays true to its roots.     The food was delicious. We enjoyed the Diavola pizza, which was different than any pizza we ever had. The pasta special was also fantastic. The service was awesome. The main dining room and bar area were nice, but the restaurant felt disconnected with the different dining rooms which were empty on our visit there. Otherwise, we will be back for some great Southern Italian food.

    Had a great meal. The fresh pasta was outstanding, best I’ve had since Prima closed in Walnut Creek. Service was friendly and attentive. Look forward to returning.
