Located in a historical home in the resort town of Dana Point, California, Luciana's Ristorante has been serving the Orange County community for over 40 years. The decor is reminiscent of a cozy European-style inn, establishing it as one of Orange County's most romantic restaurants. Awarded the Southern California Restaurant Writers gold medal since 1996, three stars from the California Restaurant Writers, Zagat's Survey "America’s 1,000 Top Italian Restaurants 2008" and an Award of Excellence for its wine list, Luciana's has been setting the standard for classic as well as innovative Italian cuisine.     The outside separate building lacked ambiance. It would serve nicely for a group party but for an individual dining experience it felt like the kids table in another room.

    The restaurant was full. Many 6-8 party tables. Noise level was extremely high. ) Go figure Rainy Wednesday night )We asked if there was a less noisy room. The hostess had to ask mgr before we were moved to the back room. The wine cellar had a bday party going on ( loud) two tables of 6. So we were trapped. Food was good, service by Jose was great. Pasta was ala denta but good. Definitely will return.

    My wife and I have dined at Luciana's for many years and have been very satisfied. Our last two visits, however, were not satisfying. Last Nov. 10 I ordered Vitello alla Parmigiana. The chicken was so tough I thought I needed a steak knife! Also there was too much cheese on top. Last Sunday, March 2, we both ordered Ravioli di Vitello, our all time favorite. It was served with very little sauce and, as a result, was very dry. What a disappointment! We will probably continue going to Luciana's and hope for the best.

    It was just OK . Seated in a tent and while service was prompt , there was definitely an air of tolerance , presumably because we were not “ regulars “ . The food was decent but not a great value . We clearly felt that our lack of ordering some overpriced wine selections was a perceived detriment to our value as customers .
