   The staff were very attentive, food was amazing. This was the first time that I dined on a weekday and it was a much different experience than the weekend, considering how busy it gets. I will be back during the week for happy hour!

   It was fine. I like the place. Because of the rain, all of their outside reservations came inside which threw off ours. We managed, but it was a little odd.

   Brunch at Lucille’s was great. Limited menu but everything was very tasty. Service was really quick but we ordered as soon as we sat down. Valet parking is the best way to handle parking. Live entertainment is very nice but loud so conversations are difficult.

   Five of us enjoyed a wonderful dinner on the patio. It was a cool breezy evening and the patio was perfect. Our server was attentive and flawless. The catfish and grits, visually striking with its purple-hued coleslaw topping, was flavorful. I couldn’t stop eating the creamy grits. Heaven! We split two desserts which would have been three but they were out of the lemon icebox pie. Will try it next time!

   Beautiful restaurant with a relaxed but upscale vibe. The menu is appealing, the food was decent, and prices were reasonable. Easy street parking when I went, but $10 valet parking also available.

   I booked our table for four mature women for 10a Sat brunch several weeks in advance. Two of us were early while the other two were hunting for the elusive street parking places. We two early arrivals asked if we could order a drink at the bar while we waited for the friends. Well we COULD, but we couldn’t sit at the bar which was empty but had reserved placards at each bar stool. We’d have to “sit over there” which turned out to be six uncomfortable convention type stackable chairs placed against a wall. No where to set your expensive cocktail. Our two friends gave up and valet parked. As we were being seated on the patio, we were informed “this is a 90 minute table.” Say what? First we had heard of that. We had cocktails, two bottles of wine, appetizers and entrees. (Not bad for 90 minutes, right? It’s not like we were sitting there sipping on our waters.) We were ready to order coffee and dessert when a soft spoken young woman appeared to inform us that our 90 minutes were up. We said we were just waiting for our server to return to order dessert and coffee. (He had been very available but had seemed to disappear after our table was bussed.) The deliverer of the bad news said we’d have to ask our server about ordering dessert. He claimed SHE would have to make that decision. Obviously they both knew the drill. What a terrible position to put your serve staff in. Our server Alex was competent and personable but in retrospect he was clearly encouraging us to hurry up throughout our allotted 90 minutes. There were LOTS of four tops available when we left, paying $10 each for valet. The food was as great as we all remembered but none of us will be back after this bait and switch 90 minutes limit. It’s a shame because our earlier experiences at Lucille’s were positive. I should add that as we were leaving at 11:35, the live music began and it was really LOUD. We really couldn’t have continued our delightful conversation anyway.

    Everything was very tasty- the oxtail tamales, catfish and cheesy grits and collard greens. Server was great. The reason why I rated service 3 stars is because the lady hostess when you walk in was very unfriendly and bossing her help around very rude. We make this a yearly visit when in Houston for the rodeo.
