I have eaten here since its inception and have always had a good time, the food and ambience are really good. I was hoping for a little bit more from the recent refurbishment but it remains a good place for a beer and a pizza

They took over an hour for a table of 6 to get served four pizzas and one salad and a pasta dish. The free olives were nice as an apology.

The food was good as usual, but disappointed in the service as when booking I had noted that it was a meal for my daughters 5th birthday (selected as a special occasion from the drop down menu) and if they could provide a desert with a candle it would make her day. At the restaurant when I mentioned this I was asked if I had brought my own candle (??) and then the staff said they would look into it. They never came back to explain the situation and nothing was provided. I wont be as over the top as suggesting it ruined my daughter's birthday, but it would have been a nice touch and seems like something pretty standard for a restaurant to provide. I think this is the only restaurant I have been to that doesn't provide anything for a birthday. It was also pretty clear that it was her birthday (large badge etc) and none of the staff said a word. Again not a disaster, but its the small things that endear residents to a local restaurant and they have lost quite a bit of our goodwill from this occasion.

Lovely experience, food was good. Service was mostly great aside from the fact that our order "didn't go through" so we waited longer for our food than we should have. But aside from that, the overall experience was nice.

This was my first time back at Luppolo in almost a year and we were extremely disappointed. We requested 2 highchairs on our booking and again when we arrived. We were only ever given 1. We waited 10 minutes to be given menus. After placing our order 2 people came over to check elements of it. Our drinks order was wrong and then our food order was wrong. When the corrected item was brought out the waitress said "plain pasta" and we said "no, we ordered pasta and meatballs" and another waiter said "yeah. Yeah the meatballs are there". There were no meatballs but we were eating with two toddlers who were very hungry so we didn't want to wait for the order to be remade a 2nd time. The toilets were not very clean and none of the toilets had toilet paper in. This was 5pm on a Saturday so not yet busy in the restaurant

Hands down, it is the best family restaurant in Wanstead. The staff are so nice and tolerant of the mayhem kids bring to the table. It is so refreshing to feel welcome as a family with small children and we are all very grateful.

Always enjoy the food at Luppolo but the service can be hit and miss and this visit was no exception. Pretty slow overall and one side dish arrived extremely late (though it was taken off the bill)
