Maccaroni Trattoria Italiana in the Melbourne CBD is serving rustic and authentic Italian food like its meant to be – flavoursome, simple and made with a healthy dose of Italian passion. The chefs behind this Manchester Lane restaurant are dedicated to following traditional recipes (just like Nonna used), using their knowledge from homeland Italy and adding just a touch of gourmet modernity. Freshly made pasta is undoubtedly the star of the show at Maccaroni Trattoria Italiana, ranging from gnocchi and tagliatelle to fettuccine and pappardelle. Yet the menu also offers rustic pizzas, traditional mains and homemade desserts that will satisfy any guest – especially when enjoyed alongside the Italian and Australian wines available. Celebrated my birthday here and everything was perfect, the food, the atmosphere!! A lot of vegetarian and vegan options. Our server TJ was wonderful!! Would definitely recommend and I’ll be coming back for sure.

Delicious squid ink fettuccine with prawns, risotto with zucchini and pancetta and bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio Nice ambience and most enjoyable experience.

We had the $20 special lunch which is a select choice of 3 pastas or choice of salads and a coffee. The pasta was amazing. We also had an Aperol Spritz each. Lovely lunch.

Food was delicious! Just amazing! Service was awesome! Only grip the lighting was too bright and invasive when trying to enjoy the meal. Otherwise beautiful food compliments to the chef!

Fabulous food in a nice spot with Italian vibes. We had the fettuccine and gnocchi and both were obviously freshly made and delicious. It’s a busy spot with lovely ambience. There is a 10% weekend surcharge, which we were surprised by coming from out of Melbourne. Would recommend.
