Maíz Mexican Food is a food and beverage concept that celebrates and integrates a wide range of corn preparations that most Mexican restaurants aren’t offering at the moment. I have been to Maiz which I had good experience . However this visit was embarrassingly bad. We requested to sit in the booth and asked the guy if we can move, he quoted “no, that’s absolutely not possible” is a very rude way. It was embarrassing to have my guests dealt with that as he just left us. We then asked another lady and she was lovely as she explained why we weren’t able to move, understood. Food came and everything, no one checked back on our food, unsure if SOS has changed. But felt as if we weren’t welcomed.

A-Maiz-ing!! The food absolutely delicious. Attentive staff. Fairly priced. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our night at Maiz!

Always the most delicious incredible meals. We loved celebrating the end of the year at our favourite restaurant in Sydney! We eat there every time we visit and haven’t once been disappointed. The food is flavourful, fresh and unique. We sat at the bar and loved looking at all of the spirits, fermentation jars and ingredients being used. Thanks for having us!

Our second visit to Maiz was every bit as good as the first. We opted for the fixed menu this time and it was uniformly delicious from start to finish. I might say my favourites were the 2 dishes made from corn—soup to begin and ice block (yes! Sweet corn ice block) were both stunningly delicious! The ice block totally original and unexpected! Loved even the hibiscus and mescal shot to start the dinner. Service was just the right amount of attentive and leave you to your eating! Terrific value too. I’ve already booked our next dinner!

Great food and good vegetarian (and vegan) options. Knowledgeable service (Molly was excellent), good cocktails and plenty of choice. It's a buzzy vibe especially as we were sat at the bar. Sophisticated Mexican/South American flavours- no Tex Mex here. More expensive than many of the Newtown/Enmore restaurants but not expensive for the quality at all. Will definitely be back.

Food was fantastic, service was great and the atmosphere was casual without feeling too casual. Only complaint was that I put a note on my reservation that it was my partner's 30th birthday, and asked if there was anything they could do, but nothing came of it which was a bit disappointing.

This place is amazing . Wonderful service from Carlos and his team. You must try the esquites - a delightful pop of flavour of corn, cheese, chilli in amazing broth. Try the corn lager on tap- crisp, fresh.

Maiz has very authentic modern Mexican food that is delicious and beautifully presented. The set menu is excellent value and the modern twists on Margueritas are yummy and fun.
