    We've been coming here since they opened and have told many people that they need to come to Mama Por Dios....especially for the Puerto Nuevo Lobster! The one negative was that the music was always played at such high volume that you can't have a conversation with the people at your table....even on a Sunday at 5pm. But now I'll tell them to stay away after last night's dinner. For some reason, the owner Misael Guerrero decided to totally remodel the concept of the restaurant. It used to be very colorful and the employees gave a friendly and lively experience. Now it's drab and the energy just isn't there anymore. Like the old saying goes, if it's not broken, don't fix it. But most importantly, the food quality has really gone downhill. When we come for dinner, we always order the Puerto Nuevo Lobster since they're the only restaurant in LA, Orange and San Bernardino counties that actually served this authentic Baja specialty. But now it's still on the menu but it's no longer really a Puerto Nuevo Lobster....just a baked lobster. The portion was much smaller and the presentation was anything but special. The first photo is how they serve it now and the second is the one how they used to serve it. And the side plate of rice and beans were served stone cold. The killer part is that it's no longer prepared in the Puerto Nuevo style, and ours was over baked and tough. If you've ever been down to the fishing village that is Puerto Nuevo, you'll know that they deep fry the lobster and then finish it on the grill. As extremely disappointed as I was, my wife knew it and made me promise not to ask for the manager to ask them why it's different and why it was overcooked. I used to finish all of the first photo but couldn't get past half of this new one. Considering that we just spent over $250 for two people for two lobsters, three margaritas and guacamole which is absurd, at least serve properly prepared food and I'll gladly pay that much.

    The service was great and the food was good BUT it was sooo loud that we couldn’t have a conversation at our table and that was frustrating

    Everything was perfected. Food, music and service was on point. Prices for Everything in the menu are very reasonable. Always love coming back.

    Our brunch experience at Mama Por Dios on Sunday, February 16th, 2025, was nothing short of amazing! The lively Mariachi Band brought an incredible energy, making the atmosphere exciting and vibrant—especially during the fun Birthday Celebration parade. The food was excellent, and my party of five was beyond pleased with our selections. I personally had the Churro Waffles with Pecans and Walnuts, paired with a Chicken Breast on the side—it was absolutely divine! Highly recommend this spot for a fantastic brunch with great food, entertainment, and an unforgettable experience! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

    We made a reservation at 7:45PM- we were sat at 8:30PM. Many people were also waiting for a very long time! The food was slightly cold (Not fresh). The server did not came to our table often and did not removed plates/cups as we were finishing. Poor experience overall, this was my first time being here and i wanted to see what was the hype about! Not returning here, JAVIER’s is the place to be.

    made a reservation at 6pm was told table wasn’t ready and to give them another 20 mins… 40 mins go by and still not seated. what the point of making a reservation when you still have to wait almost another hour to be seated..

    I had a reservation for 2 at 10:30pm and wasn’t seated til 11:40pm, just to be placed facing a wall. Music was good imo but was waaaay to loud. Couldn’t even speak to my girlfriend across the table. Then theres bright white strobe lights flashing every 3 minutes blinding you tremendously. Had to cover my eyes from the lights with my hands to read the menu. Once my food came (Tomahawk steak) it was significantly over cooked. Had asked for a medium rare but instead got medium well. My girl friend ordered a ribeye steak cooked medium. Her meat came out well done. Very disappointed with our entrees. Our appetizer, the queso fondido, on the other hand was indeed delicious. The service provided was also much appreciated, tending to us frequently and accommodating our request to have our table changed. Once I was placed facing away from the wall I was truly able to enjoy the ambiance. Overall, we did enjoy ourselves and do see us returning. Hopefully the issue with our reservation meaning nothing and our meat being burnt won’t be recurring.

    I had reservations at 9:00PM. The checking in process was horrible, the worst I’ve ever seen. It’s almost like they let everyone make reservations but they can not accommodate everyone. They should limit the amount of people making reservations. We noticed after 30 minutes, people that checked in after us got in before us. It seemed like the people that were complaining to the host were getting their table faster. Luckily, the waiter was very nice , the food and drinks were amazing.

    Over all great experience in food and drinks. The margarita flight is very little alcohol in it. Food is great n well priced. We sat in the patio noise level is better than inside. They had mariachi which we enjoyed. Due Valentine’s Day it was disaster even with reservations but patio was available right away with our wait. I would visit again but not in busy holiday.
