    Would have given it 3.5 if we could. We had an odd experience! Some of the food was really good (the trio of dips, the steak and the chicken) and some was less interesting (shrimp with tomato). We had several things add a wrinkle: our reservation was at 8:15 PM but It took them about 10 minutes to seat us though the restaurant was half empty and there seemed to be a lot of staff. We waited again for quite some time to be served by anyone. Our server was friendly. Explained the whole menu. Addressed allergies intently. Nothing was rushed. We ordered everything at once, including the wrong wine so that’s on us (note that the Barbera is a rosé not a red). It was still delish. But, the beer never came. We had to ask for more drinks, nobody ever asked if we wanted something more. Our entrees showed up at 9:22. More than a half hour after our trio of dips and almost an hour after we were seated. We had ordered the harissa fries, but plain fries were brought.  Originally the menu caught our eye because of the desserts, but we were too tired to try this time!

    The food here is always very good so I had high hopes but the Christmas dinner was disappointing. It didn't feel very Christmassy, ​​the meat was tough and it was too big. There wasn't a lot of variety and the food was pretty rough. I was disappointed by how rough the food seemed. I regret paying $100 for this dish.

    Lunch here was perhaps the best food we’ve had during 2024. Mara was a pleasant surprise. The chefs and kitchen team deserve kudos. Stunning meal.

    It could've been a great dining experience, but it's definitely short staffed. Not enough cooks for sure. We had a reservation, but they said our table wasn't ready and had us wait in the lobby, but then forgot about us. We waited over 45 minutes for our breakfast. The ladies room was completely out of toilet paper. The staff was really trying, but without enough people to work, everything was impacted.

    Having dined at Mara's numerous times, we expected the same outstanding dining experience we have always had. This time, however, our dining started quite differently. We had asked for seating in the dining room on Open Table as the bar can be noisy, but the hostess said we would be seated in the bar. We then said our request was for dining room seating, and she said that would be a five minute wait. After five minutes she seated us, again in the bar area. As we asked again for the dining room, she brusquely said that would be another ten minute wait. As we sat down, I said we would sit in the bar area, but may not return again to Mara, to which she relied "wonderful." My rating reflects wonderful service by Charlotte and excellent food, but a total lack of aloha by the hostess.

    The breakfast food we has was delicious. The Portuguese sausage is delicious as are their baked good. Everything was fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this place.
