5-course dinner lacked flavor and first 3 dishes needed salt and acid (had to ask for lemons). Nothing reminded me of any Mediterranean country or typical ingredients and brightness in the food.
Service was confusing and we were told wrong information twice from servers, as they said the 5-course menu was now a 4-course and we had to choose an entree. After expressing our dismay, they checked with the manager, Dillon, within our hearing and he confirmed the menu with the servers was incorrect and would be reprinted - this after advertising the 5-course menu printed in the newspaper, and on Open Table.
After another debate with staff, we asked for the manager and were told he was busy "reprinting a new menu"...this at 5:10pm, after dinner started at 5pm. Unacceptable!
Finally, the manager - Dillon - came to our table and smuggly pretended we had not overheard the discussion he'd had with the servers, and said that the menu was correct, no choice needed.
We ordered, food came, manager disappeared over the next hours. No table check from him or any other manager.
Staff repeatedly asked "done working on that" as they cleared dishes. We didn't attend a $150+++ meal on NYEve (or anytime in a fine dining restaurant) to go to work on the food.
Poor management, poorly trained staff, average food - sweet yogurt under caviar - really? Flavorless cod balls (substituted for the crab in filo that was advertised) was almost inedible. Salad was fresh, but desperately needed salt and acid. A saving grace was the mashed potatoes and buttered carrots on the meat course. Another - "still working on that"?
Dessert was good, thankfully but not enough to redeem this meal or restaurant.
A huge disappointment. One of the worst meals we've had on Oahu at any price point. Save your money, go elsewhere.
