   Extremely disappointed. This was to have been a special occasion Easter brunch to which we had been very much looking forward. We are new to the area and had been wanting to try a restaurant at Chateau Elan. The setting is lovely but the Marc Restaurant is situated right off the lobby and we found it to be very noisy. Our waitress was polite and friendly at first. We ordered quickly but then were not served our meals for a full hour and a half. Our waitress was nowhere to be found. Finally our meals were served but they weren’t what we ordered but were meant for another table who told us they’d been waiting for over 2 hours. When we finally saw our waitress we asked what the problem was and she said the kitchen was understaffed and “slammed”. She didn’t offer anything - we were hungry by this time and some bread or something would have been appreciated. When our meals were finally served they were disappointing. Not hot. My husband ordered hot honey chicken thighs but they were dry overcooked breasts. My crab Benedict was just fair. Breakfast potatoes had no seasoning. We sat for some time before the waitress came to take our plates. Weak apologies for the slow service but no offers of anything - a man who looked to be a manager had been roaming around but never came over. This is a high end restaurant and we were very disappointed and do not plan on returning.

   The service was absolutely awful and the manager at the time did not know how to handle the customers that were upset that their food took 2 hours to received.

   Most of our experience was great, but I was greatly disappointed in the steak I ordered. We were seated quickly and well trained to by the staff. However, I ordered the waygu steak and it was not prepared well at all. I ordered it medium rare which should be served warm with a red center. This also should allow the fat to render and browning or maillard reaction on the exterior. It was cool, bright red and chewy with a grey exterior. It was quite rare. Of course I could have sent it back, but I'm order to cook it to get the browning on the exterior, it would've been well done on the inside and they had already proved they couldn't grill it well the first time. I would not recommend steak here. The smoked duck was great, the fried green tomatoes, Mac and cheese and brussel sprouts were all great. But stay away from the steak.

   I always love visiting Château Élan for the wine tasting and wrapping up the day with dinner at Marc. Yesterday marked my fourth visit, and as usual, I stuck with my go-to: the lamb chops. I typically switch up the sides depending on who I’m dining with—this time, my boyfriend and I went with the loaded mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. He had the ribeye, and we kicked things off with a crab cake appetizer. The food was absolutely delicious, as always. However, I did notice that the lamb chops felt a bit smaller than usual, and I really missed the carrot and broccolini garnish they used to include—it added a nice touch. Out of everything we ordered, the crab cakes and steak were definitely the most generous and satisfying in terms of portion size. That said, the service was excellent. Both our server and the hostess were warm and attentive, which is something I always appreciate about dining at Marc. I’ll definitely be back again—hopefully next time, the garnishes make a comeback and the lamb chops are a bit heartier!

   Staff was very attentive and overall an enjoyable experience, however a few things were far below expectations. First off, the table was extremely small. It is disappointing to be seated at a table that can hardly fit cutlery, drink glasses and apps without constantly feeling something is going to fall off. This wasn't because it was the only table available, but more so just the size tables they chose overall. Secondly the Wagyu Ribeye was well below par. Maybe the other cuts would have been better, but in my case, especially for the price, I found myself VERY disappointed. Worth trying again to see if it was just an off night, but expectations for this type of dining is there are no off nights.

   Colin and Hasan were the perfect staff. They made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the "couples" seating is all right next to each other so you hear EVERYTHING they talk about and they hear EVERYTHING you talk about. Even though the restaurant was not full, they still put you within arms reach of the next table. Very uncomfortable and not that romantic. However, Great place, bar, staff, food, and atmosphere. We will go back many times.

   We stayed and ate there on Friday night. The food was nothing special. I had the duck and my wife had steak. I'm sorry, but we were underwhelmed. We found the seasoning bland, except for the soup. The soup was unfortunately salty. Our server was very kind and attentive. Her suggestion of wine was spot on. Also, we were advised that the kitchen was "backed up". It took an hour and a half to get our entrees. Good, not great!

    3/21/2025-The server was fantastic until the end, but the food was very disappointing. After waiting over 2 hrs for our food, we had to send our steak back twice and didn’t eat It. It was not cooked as requested. Although we received a free dessert, we were still charged $65 for something we didn’t eat which was very frustrating! The other food was okay, but not worth the price. The waiter brought the check and I paid. Then she came back and said she gave me the incorrect bill and recharged me more. My bill was over $130 for a steak we didn’t eat and couple sides. I’m very disappointed and won’t return.
