Sungchul Shim, chef and owner of the Michelin star restaurant Kochi opens his second Michelin star restaurant Mari in Hell's Kitchen. At Mari (roll in Korean), Sung offers a tasting menu of street-food inspired Korean hand rolls, complemented by an extensive wine list and a selection of Korean spirits like soju and chungju.

Mari is offering a $145 per person seasonal tasting menu (along with a beverage pairing for $110) that explores the many facets of Korean cuisine through small plates and inventive hand rolls.

Due to the nature of our tasting menu, we are unable to accommodate vegetarian/vegan diets, gluten-free diets (if soy is not okay to consume), rice-free diets, allergies to fish, allium, sesame seeds/oil, and aversion to raw seafood. If you have any questions regarding food restrictions, please contact us before making a reservation.

*Reservations are available 30 days in advance and released at midnight daily.

    Amazing experience, I’d say unforgettable. Every course had an unique flavor and texture. The service was professional and cordial. The view on the open kitchen in the middle of the restaurant is something we love to see. Worth the price!

    We had an incredible experience at Mari!! We thoroughly enjoyed the menu and the creativity and originality of the individual dishes. The service was impeccable; everyone is so attentive. Definitely earned their Michelin star!

    Food was very nice. Service a little too formal for my taste like reciting the dish without really engaging with us as people. They felt like they were in a rush which I would not expect for a restaurant at this level. Fun to try but would not rush back

    My boyfriend and I went upon a recommendation from a friend and it was absolutely outstanding. The tasting menu unfolds with delicious bites, artfully presented, one right after another. The service was impeccable - friendly, focused, seamless, and attentive, but not at all obtrusive. Initially we were concerned that it wasn’t going to be enough food, but on the contrary, we left completely stuffed. Sadly, for me, there was perhaps one course too many as I couldn’t even finish dessert, which was one of the best parts! It was pricey for me (coming from the suburbs of Chicago), but on par with midtown manhattan and worth every penny. I highly recommend!!!

    Excellent service. Whole staff is knowledgeable and attentive. Food is delicious with beautiful presentation. Highly recommend sitting at the counter to watch the food preparation. If I get the chance, I will absolutely return.

    One of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Chef Shim’s creations are absolutely exquisite in every way, from the beautifully balanced flavors to the gorgeous presentations. For what it’s worth, this is not the kind of tasting menu that will leave you hungry afterwards - in my opinion, it is worth every penny in every regard. The service is gracious and attentive, thanks to the wonderful staff who ensure that everything is run to the highest standard. The restaurant is sleek but also cozy enough for an intimate dinner where you can actually carry on a conversation while you’re enjoying an incredible dining experience.
