Discovering Italy by way of La Jolla, Marisi focuses on Italian hearth cooking with an emphasis on handmade pastas, fine wine and classic cocktails. The menu celebrates the rich diversity of cuisine from across Italy, fashioned in a time-honored tradition of handmade all day, every day. A dream that lives between the Italian and La Jolla coasts, suspended between tides instead of time — a mood more than a plot.     Hostess was so nice and accommodating, but then our waiter was the opposite. We wouldn’t make the drive from Del Mar for service like that. The food was nice but again not worth the drive especially with that service

    My wife and I shard 3 different appetizers ( tomato crudo, hamachi crudo and seared shrimp) each was wonderful with different flavors . We had the best branzino for the main course with a herb dressing. I cannot say enough about the flavors of these dishes.

    Perfect date night restaurant. Make reservations even for the bar or else you will stand around waiting for a seat. Most importantly come at least 20 minutes early to insure parking

    Fabulous food and service. We will definitely be going back to try more amazing dishes. Get the beet appetizer; you won’t regret it!

    Worst service I’ve had in San Diego. Dishes were timed terribly between courses. New silverware was placed for the next course before the last was even over. Check was removed after payment, with clear intent to get us out of the restaurant (we spent a total of 42 minutes there on a Saturday night)
