Opened in 1991, Max a Mia was named “Best New Restaurant” by Connecticut Magazine in its first year, and “top-grossing restaurant in its size” by Restaurant Hospitality. The restaurant is now in the good hands of Executive Chef Bob Peterson, who has brought an exciting new energy to the restaurant.

Max A Mia is the quintessential Italian experience in the Greater Hartford area. It also continues to garner awards and accolades. Featuring a traditional Italian menu, it utilizes an authentic brick oven that produces stone pies with unmatched flavor. Traditional veal, pork and pasta dishes, as well as inventive risotto offerings, set the mood for desserts including tiramisu and white chocolate polenta cake.

    This is our 4th Valentine’s dinner we e had there and we are never disappointed. We love the food and ambiance and the service is always excellent! Highly recommend!

    Our food was fantastic, start to finish. The pacing was perfect. Our server was so friendly and attentive. The low to reasonably moderate noise level made for easy conversation. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

    We are regulars over many many years and still our go to in the Farmington Valley. They quite simply they know how to run a restaurant from fantastic food to great service. Wine selection is refreshed often. If in the valley give it a try.

    We have not been to a Max restaurant in years. We decided to try Max a Mia. Best decision we ever made. The drinks were spectacular and not overly priced. The food was delicious. My husband had a steak I had fish. The preparation the detail the flavor everything was outstanding and we can’t wait to go back again. Our waitress was phenomenal. We felt like family by the time we left the restaurant. Max a Mia outdid themselves! We will be back
