    Expect to pay high prices for extremely small portions. Went Valentine Day weekend and being a steak house they were out of 3 different steaks. Leaving only high $$$ steaks. 3 people in my party and 1 got the wrong meal, sent it back and got the correct meal within 2 minutes. However you could tell it had been microwaved. Extremely chewy. Drinks were ok at best. I wouldn’t recommend the food. Host and servers were Excellent.

    Went to a steak house to get a steak and ordered the strip; they were out of it 🙄. Left me with a filet as a choice but didn’t want to pay $66 for an 8 oz filet. Strip was 14 oz and it was my preferred choice. So, was relegated to the pork chop which was delivered cooked well done and dry. Not a great experience tonight for sure. Will really think hard before going back

    I’m not one to write negative reviews. My friends and I were hoping to have a great meal at The Mercantile after not having that experience in the past. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. Our appetizer wasn’t edible. The fish was very fishy and the combination of flavors wasn’t good. Two of us ordered the chicken dish and the chicken was delicious and warm, but the sides were cold. Our greatest disappointment was that we were still charged for our appetizer in spite of sharing with our waiter that it didn’t taste good. Great ambiance!

    The steaks are amazing. The special of the night was scallops, which were delicious, and the food servers are amazingly friendly and efficient. We were seated in the back of the room where it is a little dark and claustrophobic. I hope we can get one of the tables or booths in the main dining area next time.

    The wine service was great and the server was nice but for the price I would have expected a higher quality steak . We ordered one done to medium and it was raw in the middle. The other one was perfect temp but so over seasoned it was not enjoyable to eat. Very diasappointed and will not be going back or recommending this place to anyone.

    This was our third time here. The first two visits were truly exquisite. This time, we made a reservation (I did add people, from 2-5, but did so well in advance, and actually the app messed up as I tried to make it for 4 from the onset), and still had to wait while they moved tables around to seat us. The staff seemed to be in training. Our server was no where near as attentive as in the past. The wait was really, really long for appetizers, and for food, and our drinks sat empty for quite some time while she and others walked past us. With a long dinner wait, this seems like an an opportunity to make money on drinks. Our son was with us, a teen, and the wait for food made for an unpleasant time since he had been up since 5 am and just gotten off work. To make matters worse, we had brought friends from out of town, one of whom is really a connoisseur of fine dining. This was not it. His marrow appetizer was so spicy he was stealing our salad dressing to try to heal his tongue. He liked it, but was unprepared for that. Gratefully, the steaks were amazing, as usual. Their presentation was not. A (delicious) slab of meat slapped on a plate. I was a little embarrassed, and don't think he'll be coming back. When we arrived, there were open tables with plenty of seats, so I am not sure why it shook out like this. 6:45 on a Thursday...

    This is the 4th time I have eaten at Mercantile and it has been a disappointment the last 2 times. Kitchen has been slow, 80 minutes for dinner and the same the previous time. We look forward to coming here when we are in town but will look elsewhere as the cost doesn't warrant the final experience.

    For the price and a upscale place the service was mediocre at best It took a hour for our food to get to the table and we didn’t get our appetizers This is the second trip there in a row that we were not impressed with the food and the service Will not be back.
