This was our first time for our family gathering at Mimi's. I was so excited to try it due to their great selection. We made a reservation and although I understand they can't ask customers to leave, it was so disappointing the entended length of time we had to wait before we could be seated. I commend the manager though, he tried, although it put a member of our party sitting on the end. It was cramped at that end of the table and awkward.
For a group of 11 it took them almost 10 minutes to fully deliver all the food to our table. 2 dishes were brought out 5 minutes before any other dishes. It's incredibly rude to put people in that position.
My son had ordered a basic breakfast with pancakes and it was obvious his pancakes were overcooked and bordered on burnt edges. I was shocked the would serve them.
My husband and daughter got the Grilled salmon. Both lacked seasoning and were very bland. The mashed potatoes were barely warm and one of the salmon were overcooked.
I got the half roasted chicken with rice and broccoli. The chicken wasn't pump and juicy like you would typically expect. Before even tasting it, you could see that it was overcooked and slightly shriveled. You could also see the lack of seasoning. I'm trying to figure out of it's just normal for Mimi's to make all of their food without seasoning as that was the overwhelming feedback from everyone in our group. I didn't even eat my lunch. The rice was bland, literally plain rice. The broccoli was just plain broccoli. It was so disappointing to spend so much money and to have this experience. There was no point in taking it home.
The servicer was ok. I realize she could only serve what she was given, but even from a timing standpoint, she shouldn't have served anything if everything else wasn't even being plated. The kitchen didn't have the experience to cook and serve 11 meals in a reasonable amount of time, correctly, and with flavor. It was so disappointing. I have no desire to go back.
