We came for your specialty Easter Brunch buffet and it was our first time. The food was very good, the buffet was beautifully setup, and the ballroom was beautiful, and your manager is very nice, but service dropped the ball completely on our table.
Started on a good note, she came when my son and I sat and asked for our drink order, I gave her three of the drink orders. It took almost 15 minutes and she brought back one drink and it was wrong. When the last three of our party came she got our drinks and some table salt and that was the last we saw of her, no refills, the plates stacking up on our table, I had to go to the bar to get a soda refill, and my MIL wanted to order hot tea but couldn’t get anyone to come around to order it. For $105 per person, not really the service I expected; I’ve received more attentive service at a Golden Corral. Our table sat dirty until the very end of our dining experience when a busser came by to clear it.
As I’m sitting there trying to get service I look around and I notice no other table is having the issues we are having. Tables are clear of dirty dishes, drinks are full, and I see servers going by, refilling coffee, and checking on guests. This observation tells me that we weren’t a good enough table to be there. We aren’t drinkers, we were dressed nice but not in designer like everyone else, and I have a 3 year old. I know in hospitality these can be considered red flags by some servers and they will give mediocre service because they assume the table won’t tip correctly and the server left us feeling we weren’t important. I think the nail on the coffin was the fact that a gratuity was added on our table of five( 4 adults one child) when your website says gratuity on parties of 6 or more. That tells me you don’t trust us to tip.
Staff needs to learn don’t judge a book by its cover. Whether intentional or not this is the perception left to us. Manager Halie did compensate us for our time and she was kind.
