Montana's BBQ & BAR is a Canadian comfort food restaurant and sports bar that is famous for barbecue cuisine. We stopped in at this Montana's a couple of weeks ago and arranged our daily schedule this time to do it again. Eileen wanted the ribs (her favorite meal) and I like to try different offers on the menu, had the buttermilk chicken over mashed potatoes. It has been a while since we were at Montana's-- since the one closed in Sherwood Park. We were shopping at IKEA and decided to try Montana's on 17 street since it was on our way home. Service was fantastic. Our server made sure our food and drinks were brought to us as we asked for, lime in the drinks etc. Food was good my wife had the wrap and was tasty I had the 10oz sirloin. It was cooked perfectly but tasted a little bland. The kids enjoyed the kids menu and ate almost all their food, which is rare for a 2 year old and 3 year old. Went on a date with my man which is extremely rare for us as we have a disabled girl. The drink I ordered was incredibly sweet to where you couldn’t drink it. The food wasn’t prepared as a meal and as I asked. I received my dish with no chicken had to wait for it. When our waitress came by and asked how it was I mentioned it was hot/spicy as I asked for no pica de gallo. We didn’t have time to wait for a new dish as we had plans after dinner for the next part of the date. Also who wants to go on a date and not eat together?! I picked out the pieces leaving it still spicy. Didn’t see waitress for 20 minutes had to ask another waitress for to go containers. Still waited for our waitress to come by and when she did we asked for the bill. Was $4 off my meal. Not impressed with service or food. Wouldn’t recommend or go back.
