The Monterrey has a great Friday-Saturday offer on prime rib, and that was what we were seeking. What is more NYC than a classic prime rib? Lovely ambiance, great decor, lovely service. Would recommend. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a great steakhouse.

A really great meal, kind and attentive service. Steak frites was perfect, Passion fruit tart was outstanding.

Good food , service mediocre . We had the typical spreads which were basic , the main dishes were octopus and salmon which were very good. The service was mediocre as the waiter did not explain anything , admitted the wine was bad after we tasted it and chose another , proceeded to ask for a 25% tip. Would not make an effort to return. PS food is rather Israeli , not Moroccan if that is what you are looking for.

wonderful - great experience. Stephan was very attentive and we enjoyed the Banana Foster dessert and the presentation was incredible. Thank you!

Just great. The food is wonderful, was prepared perfectly as requested, and the menu has terrific variety. Lobster bisque was as good as it gets. The caesar was wonderful as always and the salmon was splendid. The roasted cabbage never fails. The service is at so unusually high a level every time that it reminds us what truly special service is. And the calm high-ceilinged room is peaceful even when full. We love this place. One of our favorites in midtown.

Very very loud. Too loud for a business dinner. For business meals, Monterey’s lunch is still excellent, however, as they keep the sound low for the lunchtime crowd.
