Moon Rabbit is a highly-regarded Vietnamese restaurant situated in the heart of Washington D.C., drawing inspiration from the virtuous rabbit depicted in the Buddhist Jataka tale. Led by acclaimed Chef Kevin Tien, the restaurant embodies an innovative approach to Vietnamese cuisine, showcasing a menu that is both unique and complex. Chef Tien's main objective is to pay tribute to his heritage as a first-generation Asian American, using Moon Rabbit as a platform for expressing his love for Vietnamese culture and food.

    First time/experience and loved everything about it. It’ll become a favorite place to come back to as a local and to bring out of town guests. Thank you for chefs that love what they do as people like myself can taste it through the food that you curate on your menu.

    Amazing amazing amazing - can’t wait to go back. Usually reviews are about the food - which was truly wonderful in taste and presentation and accommodation of gluten intolerance - but service can often enhance or ruin a meal. And in this case the service only enhanced our experience so thanks for a great birthday evening, and the chance to contribute to the victims of the tragic LA wildfires.

    Fantastic meal with amazing service! Every dish is superb, and all made with such great precision and care. Chef Kevin is outstanding and we always love returning to Moon Rabbit whenever we get a chance. Also, the desserts are a must!!

    My friend and I had such a wonderful time dining here last night—truly an epic meal from start to finish! First off, shoutout to the amazing team! From whoever answered my email (thank you for helping me snag an earlier time slot!) to our super warm and welcoming host and server, the hospitality was on point. Speaking of our server—SO cute, so friendly, and they even called us Ate and spoke to us in our language, which meant more to me than I can even put into words. 🥹 Our food runners were also fantastic—so patient, thorough, and great at explaining each dish while answering all our questions. The drinks? Dangerously good. We fell in love with the "Back in Cali" and may have had one too many. 😆 And the food? A+++—some dishes reminded us of home, bringing back childhood memories of SE Asia while still being different enough to be interesting. We were joking that even our asian mothers would approve! It was such an lovely experience. If I had one small note, it would be that the lighting could be a tad dimmer for a cozier feel, but honestly, everything else was SO spot on. Thank you for taking such amazing care of us—we’ll be back (probably for more "Back in Cali" cocktails)! 😄🍹

    The service was excellent, as was the wine and most of the dishes. I wasn't a big fan of the scallops or the vegan appetizer cubes but my wife enjoyed both. Overall an excellent dining experience.

    Fantastic food. Great service. Only disappointment for us, The lady sitting next to us had a bad cough, which unfortunately she turned our direction to cough during dinner.

    The staff was so warm and welcoming to me and my sister. Each dish was presented beautifully and explained with care. The food was phenomenal and it was fun to try new dishes. I highly recommend the crab dish. We felt like we were eating at a friend's home. Will definitely return!!

    Excellent weight staff! We were seated between two couples that were very loud so the experience was a little diminished. Overall, the food was excellent, and the service was A+ It’s why one goes out to a nice restaurant.
